It keeps the cup securely closed when not in use, so I don’t have to worry about spills in her backpack or in the car. The **straw grip** is also super helpful—it keeps the straw in place so it doesn’t pop out or get lost (which has happened with other cups we’ve tried). Why did you pick this product vs others?: Funny thing is, I haven’t even used this particular item yet because my daughter bought me the exact item except in a different color and size! So my review is for the product it’s just not the one that it is pictured. I kept this one anyway, because since it is so fabulous, why not have two? lol. But this is the best I have ever had because it truly does keep your beverage, hot or cold, and I love that the lid allows you the choice of either having a straw or drinking directly, and I love that you can slide the cover so that nothing can get into your drink as I often take it outside with me and don’t want bugs getting in! The colors are beautiful also. All the way around the best choice.

I finally gave in and got my first Stanley cup—the 30 oz Quencher in Cornflower Gloss—and now I totally get what all the fuss is about. The color is gorgeous in person, kind of a soft periwinkle with just enough shine to feel a little fancy without being too flashy. What surprised me most is how well it keeps drinks cold. I fill it with ice water in the morning, and it’s still icy in the afternoon.
