While small in stature, the Classic Vibe 60s Mustang packs a punch of incredible tone courtesy of the dual Fender- Designed alnico single-coil pickups. Small hands will appreciate the short 24 scale length and slim, comfortable C-shaped neck profile with an easy-playing 9.5-radius fingerboard and narrow-tall frets. This Mustang is faithful to the original with a vintage-style tremolo system for expressive string bending effects and floating bridge with barrel saddles for solid string stability. This throwback Squier model also features 1960s-inspired headstock markings, rich-looking nickel-plated hardware and a slick vintage-tint gloss neck finish for an old-school vibe. It has my favorite fender tremolo (vibrato would be more accurate) system & it’s fun. Probably swap out the totally fine but kind of bland budget Strat pickups these come with. Maybe something interesting or exotic but probably just more vintage sounding. Wish it had a rosewood fretboard but oh well. ... show more

I know this is not a true Fender, But I've bought a few Epiphones that were really nice, so I thought I'd take a chance with this Squire Mustang. The visuals are quite nice, but the intonation was terrible. I was able to adjust three strings to nearly correct length, but the low E, G &B bridges maxed out before I could true them out. I tried to lower the bridge itselfand found it was already as low as it would go. The strings seem to be cheaply made and dirty. I've tried cleaning them and they are playable, but I'm going to change them out as soon as I can. The whammy bar just floats and can't be kept in a usable position. Overall, the guitar is playable, but I was hoping for better. ... show more

I’m really impressed with this guitar all around. I was looking for another guitar to add to my collection and I thought why not do a Cobain mod of a Skystang and I pulled the trigger on it. It’ll be fun to mod out for sure. Its also a great guitar stock. I just like a little more meat and teeth to my guitars. Seymour Duncan baby! 🤘The only complaint I have is the sharp fret edges. Easy to fix but still annoying as hell. Oh and it DEFINITELY needed ALOT of lemon oil on the fretboard (more than likely due to drying out in a warehouse for awhile) and a set of strings that were NOT like dental floss. ... show more

Like some other reviewers mentioned about the Mustang, it needs a good set up after purchase. The action was really low which caused a buzzing on the low E string. The neck was really dry from (I imagine) sitting in a warehouse for a long time, so it needed some lemon oil applied to the fret board. I did not notice sharp frets like some other reviewers mentioned, but my fingers are pretty callused. I think it stays in tune pretty well, I tune it before each use and it's always within -2/+2 Hz. The tuners feel a little light for my liking, so I plan on switching them out for Gotoh lock tight tuners and I'll probably change the bridge at some point to Staytrem bridge, but those aren't really necessary out of the box for mine. The pickups sound better than the Bullet Mustang, but I'd also switch them out for Seymour Duncan Antiquity II's (who wouldn't?). Overall I'm happy with it, but if you want this guitar to really shine prepare to invest some money into it afterward. ... show more
