  • 40th ANNIVERSARY Squier Strat.
Color: Satin Wide 2-Color Sunburst
Was very impressed out the the box, which survived shipment and arrived as promised, it was flawless, no dings, overspray or defects. The set-up was pretty much spot on, string height, pickups and nut were all good with no need for further adjustment. The black anodized aluminum pickguard looks awesome and provides extra insulation for noise canceling for the pickups. The neck was a pleasant surprise as it has a satin finish, the whole guitar likewise, every other Squier I’ve played have had gloss necks, this one felt great played smooth! The pickups sound good to my ear, all the expected Strat sounds, I love the 5th position sounds like a Strat! 😀 These 40th anniversary’s are Squiers most expensive guitars. Best was the fact I got it for 285 bucks on Amazon day! 🔥 ... show more

  • What a Killer Strat
Color: Satin Wide 2-Color Sunburst
Other than it being a tad heavy (nyatoh must be a dense wood! Doesn’t affect the tone one bit), this axe plays and sounds great! The treble pickup is already attached to the tone knob (very cool). The maple neck arrived flawless, no fret issues and the pickups sound lovely. Strung er up with my string gauge and was ready to rock and roll! Wish we would have had these when I was just starting out, would likely be a real rock star by now! If you can get one for under $300 do it, you won’t be disappointed! ... show more

  • Do you like really nice stuff at a low price?
Color: Satin Wide 2-Color Sunburst
I paid $290 for this on a Prime deal. It's a bargain that doesn't feel like any compromise whatsoever on my end. Long and short of it: Excellent out-of-box setup, good fret finishing (no sprouting or sharp fret ends), it’s equipped with a bone nut, real alnico pups (instead of a ceramic plate under rods) which deliver undeniable Stratocaster tone profiles. Fit and finish and setup on this guitar was much nicer than my 2022 MIM Strat - which retails for 3x what I paid for this. The black aluminum pick guard is a aesthetically perfect fit, and way more scratch-resistant than plastic. The chrome hardware has been relic'd, which is a really nice touch. This guitar possesses great playability and feel, and seems to me like it's genuinely worth $450 - $500. There’s nothing wrong with the selector switch, tuners or saddles for a guitar in this price range, but those would be my first upgrades if I wanted to spend a little more money. ... show more

  • Great sounding strat for the price
Color: Satin Wide 2-Color Sunburst
Frets are level and fret ends are smooth. Had to adjust the truss rod to level out the neck, adjusted the bridge, saddle height and intonation. Third string has an overtone that I'll investigate more once I change the strings. I suspect a burr or something either at the nut or saddle

  • Great guitar with a little TLC needed
Color: Satin Wide 2-Color Sunburst
Out of the box, this guitar is playable and the satin finish on the neck feels incredible. The overall construction is good and there are no blemishes or scuffs to be found. I did have the same issue as others with the buzzing high E string which I fixed by filing down the nut. I found the pickups to be serviceable and when plugged into an amp it "sounds like a strat". Down the line I will be replacing the bridge saddles, tuners and pickups, but as a beginner this guitar will be great for at least the next few years. ... show more

  • Phenomenal starter guitar
Color: Satin Wide 2-Color Sunburst
Picked this up during Prime Days and with accumulated discounts almost feel like I stole it. Paid less for it than the Squier Bullet but the finishing and quality of the 40th Anniversary models put them at the top of the Squier Stratocaster line. An extremely versatile guitar that is exceptionally fun to play. Couldn’t be more pleased. ... show more

  • This guitar is awesome, with one caveat
Color: Satin Wide 2-Color Sunburst
OK. I am a fan of Fender guitars in general, and Strats in particular. I currently have a Fender American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe, a Fender MIM Roadhouse Deluxe Strat, an Epiphone Les Paul Modern, a Squier Sonic Mustang, a Harley Benton CST-24, and some other assorted inexpensive guitars, too. I truly love this Squier 40th anniversary Stratocaster. The roasted maple neck is incredibly good and rivals the Professional II I have. The body is awesome and it stays in tune. However, the pickups that it came with were pure junk. In fact they soundled terrible even through really good amps like a Marshall DSL20, and a Fender Super Reverb Tone Master. It even sounded bad through my Blackstar Stereo Silverline which usually will make ANY guitar sound good! So, I decided to replace the pickguard and pickups with a Fender Tex Mex loaded pickguard. This also comes with a really good switch as well as good full sized pots. It was an easy replacement that took about an hour to do. The result? Wow! This guitar is as good, if not better than any Fender Player guitar for a lot less money. I love the way this guitar plays and sounds. The pickups are awesome whether playing clean or dirty. I highly recommend this guitar because it feels way more expensive than it is, but you really have to replace the poor pickups it comes with. If you buy the Fender Tex Mex loaded pickguard from Amazon and do the work yourself, you will thank me for years to come! ... show more
