You are able to look through a little bit if you are on a balcony and your facing like a parking lot you would be able to see the cars but they will not be able to see you. I hope this helps. I suggest using better wire tires than what they send with the mesh. I started out with the ones they included but pretty quickly switched to some better quality ones I had on hand. Other than that, it's up and looks ok.

Placed a 3’x50’ on our wood fence to help with privacy. Looks good and blocked 90% visibility in to the yard. Zip ties are designed for chain link fence, used staples to secure it.
