Decided to give pickleball a shot recently, mostly because my fiancé kept nudging me to be more active. I hadn’t played since high school and the paddles have definitely come a long way since then. This one is lightweight, making it super comfortable to hold and swing. It feels sturdy too, not like it’s going to shatter when I smash the ball straight into my opponent’s soul. Highly recommend. The Single Control Paddle in Red Cube seems like a good paddle for a beginner. Before even using it, after sitting on our dining room table, I noticed that it already has some erosion on the paddle, which was disappointing. Appears the surface of the paddle is easily scratched. Photo attached. No indication as to how it happened. It’s slightly lighter than the raw carbon friction surface paddle we own. The grip seems good. Overall, I’m thinking you get what you pay for, with this particular paddle. Probably good for someone who is new to pickleball and not picky about their paddle. Our seven year old plays with it and thinks it’s fine. ETA: After two days of play (2+ hours total), the finish is a bit scraped up. ... show more

I haven't used it a ton yet, but it's a lightweight and sturdy paddle that serves my purposes great for just playing with my family for fun.
