Bought 2 for $21 each. Used them surf fishing for a couple weeks and each has brought in 30+ spinner and bonnethead sharks, sting rays, 5 to 15 lbs or so. They still have a bit of life left won't last much longer. Great deal for a disposable reel on vacation or similar situation. It is an inexpensive cool looking reel. Caught a few channel cat and flat head, pretty happy with it. Then the internal main gear was broken when I tried to reel back a 3 feet shark at OBX. The reel last less then a year, and I don't think it is a "heavy duty" reel. However it worked fine for smaller fish. ... show more

This is a BUDGET reel. It gets the job done as far as reeling fish and a functional drag system but it is by no means a SALTWATER reel. In my experience if you use this reel in saltwater it WILL RUST the screws and hardware on the reel. This reel is cheaply manufactured so buyer beware. Just now received this reel in. In fact I bought 2 of them. At first glance they look good. They spin and reel pretty good. Honestly for $21.00 you cannot go wrong. I am sure they will not perform like a $250 reel. But then again if that's the performance that you want then go spend the $250. This is a great recreational reel and I am sure they will do the job.
