    • Fun Robin Hood themed game!
Good quality Disney's Robin Hood themed game. This one despite being a kids focused game, will be better suited for the older kids (I'd say 12 or older). The reason for this, is part of the game mechanics involve misleading (bluffing) and negotiating with the other players. The truth is that younger players may not understand, or may get frustrated with being misled. We've played this game a couple times with our oldest, and it is definitely fun/entertaining. We had fun figuring out this game. It did take us a bit to get everything straight, but once we got there we loved it. The kids said that they had played it before though I'm not sure anyone else has heard of it. After some investigating it turns out it is based on a different game. This has just been Disney'fied. Which is awesome. Everyone loves Robinhood! The game is in the vein of 'bluffing' and otherwise working to get what you need. This made it the most fun for the kids. They loved manipulating the situation and getting what they needed and wanted. It is a good age range. Even us adults had a good time with it. I think the game itself is beautiful. If you're into bluffing games, this one's a good one (based on the well-received Sheriff of Nottingham game). This Disney skin is well-received in our home, as the animated film happens to be a family favorite. Unfortunately, the quality just isn't really there—and nobody likes pairing a favorite with a lower-quality product. Even punching the tokens was a bit of an exercise in frustration. We own many tabletop games and love them, but I'd definitely place this one in the lower-quality tier. ...plus, if that's not enough, despite its amusing premise, lying to others' faces isn't my personal cup of tea. ... show more

Okay, I might be biased because Robin Hood is my favorite Disney movie, but had a lot of fun playing this with friends. Game was simple enough that we learned to play over snacks and jokes and engaging enough that we felt sad we were done. Recommend to anyone looking for a fun "bluff" type of game that plays quickly with lots of people. ... show more

    • A re-skin that improves on the original
When I posted about this game online, it's the one and only time I recall being FLOODED with responses asking where I got and where they bought it. This has to be the most giftable Disney board game ever. It combines a simple, easy-to-learn board game with one of the most-loved and under-promoted of the classic Disney animated archives (seriously, people LOVE the animated Robin Hood far more than Disney realizes). So...how is it different from the original Sheriff of Nottingham? Well, instead of being a liar and a cheat (not something that equates with fun to me), you are heroes trying to sneak supplies to the poor past the evil sheriff. So right away, if you are a family values person, that instantly makes the game better, as you don't feel so slimy lying to people right and left. In addition, true to the theme of the film, you are enriching others, not yourself, and I don't know about you, but for me, that kind of theming always makes a money game feel more meaningful (when all you do is backstab to be the richest player, a game always feel pointless to me). Now the production values are sadly not great. The cards feel like cheap cardboard. The cardboard tokens are the worst I have ever seen, and they ripped frequently when punching them out. And what artwork there is, is extremely limited. The cards are bland in their artwork, and all look the same. The double-sided character sheets all have the same vanilla artwork on each side. So for this one, I'll say the theme is a home run, but the production values are a strikeout. I doubt most casual game players who just like the movie and want to play a game about it will mind much. For the price, I wish the quality of components was higher but I'm pretty much ANY fan of the movie is going to be thrilled to play this or receive it as a gift if they have even a passing interest in board gaming. ... show more
