Gorgeous glasses! Feels awesome in hand. Bigger (taller) than expected w/o reading dimensions before buying. However, BEWARE, the rims are EXTREMELY easy to break! I broke my first before even using any of them when I simply rubbed one glass' rim too hard with my sponge in the kitchen sink during their first cleaning. I was simultaneously lifting the glass through the water and, although I thought I had supported the bottom end well, the weight of the base's thicker glass and force of water as it was moving was enough to snap a large portion out of the rim (see pic). Glass looks to be about .5mm thick at the rim. Will probably buy again but I honestly was trying to be as careful as I could be with these while washing. PS: with the height of the glasses they don't fit on my diswasher's top rack and with their thinness I don't see how these survive the bottom rack's heat and jets. Maybe I'm too skeptical. If you want to avoid a break on your hands, just wash one in the dishwasher to see if it survives... ... show more

Itโ€™s the perfect shape and size for a half-liter bottle of Weizen (or any .5L beer). However this glass is very light and thin, and will blow over very easily outside on the balcony, deck, or patio in anything more than the slightest breeze if itโ€™s nearly or totally empty. Itโ€™s best for indoor use unless itโ€™s absolutely still outside. ... show more

I went to a beer tasting where we opened a beer, poured some in a regular glass and some in the Spiegelau glass. There was a different glass for each style of beer served. The Spiegelau rep explained the science of the glass and how it retains temperature and affects the taste of the beer. A local brewer brought the beer and also recommended this glass. Your beer will never taste the same again - it's amazing. This is an excellent gift for a craft brew lover - we drink our IPAs with this glass, even though it's technically a lager glass. Spiegelau also has a tasting set for a variety of beer styles - another great gift for your craft beer lover. Many reviews say these glasses are thin and fragile. It's true they are thin but they are not fragile. The thinness is part of why the glass is a perfect vessel to preserve the beer flavor and temperature. These glasses are great for every liquid, especially sparkling water. They have a nice thin top lip so it doesn't feel like you have a mouth full of glass when you're drinking. Only problem is you can't slam them around. They like to shatter. A box of 4 lasts me about 1-2 years before they are all destroyed due to clumsiness or dishwasher brutality. ... show more

I wanted a set of unbranded lager glasses for our home bar. I was pleasantly surprised to see these are for Helles style beer (not listed in description or shown in pictures) which is my favorite! Spiegelau glassware is sturdy yet thin. Elegant yet dishwasher safe. Give these a try!

Hefe weisen is my favorite beer and I drank a lot of it during my army days in Germany. The glass is way too thin to hold up to everyday drinking. The top is like a champagne flute just begging to bust. One down the first day just trying to wash it after unpacking. Update 13 October 20: Down to one left now, things are ridiculously thin.
