Description

These spindles allow you to easily and affordably convert your stock drum front brakes to the original style GM front disc brakes. These new replacement forged steel disc brake spindles fit GM A-body, F-body and X-body passenger cars. These spindles are stock height, not dropped. Replacement spindles. Stock height, not dropped. The primary difference between disc brake spindles and drum brake spindles is the thickness of the upper mount boss. The upper boss is 5/8" thicker on drum brake spindles than on the disc brake spindles. Spindles work well with Speedway disc brake kit 910-31958. Fits the following applications: 1964-72 A-Body - Chevelle, Malibu, GTO, LeMans, 442, Cutlass, GS, Skylark. 1967-69 F-Body - Camaro, Firebird. 1968-74 X-Body - Nova, Apollo, Omega, Ventura.

As I write this I have not put them on my Chevelle yet, but they appear to be a good quality forging, they were packaged well, all of the ball joint holes are chamfered and the threads on the spindle weren't damaged .

I have yet to actually test drive this but I'm in the process one of the things that I wanted to point out is that the holes drilled into the bottom of the spindles are off by about 32 thousands. Because of the direction in which both holes are off i installed both spindles such that the caster will be more positive. If i end up having alignment or drivability issues ill let you know. UPDATE I installed this and i was able to get ok alignment specs i also changed ride height at the same time. i wasn't to get it closer to stock front height with bmr performance stock height springs i wasn't able to get more than 1.5 caster though. car drives great ... show more
