  • The best
The best for my salon Towels…

  • Terrible dryer which melts my synthetics (set on "delicate") and takes forever to dry cottons.
Well, it sort of dries clothes, but it absolutely RUINS my fleece synthetics, melting them! Even when set on delicate, the polar fleece melts to the heat vent and it's ruining all the fleece. In addition, it takes forever (set on "regular") to dry towels. I have to set it for over an hour, and without it even being a full load. Worst dryer I have ever had! And Speed Queen does not stand behind their products at all. They keep telling me I'm overfilling it, then when I tell them I do only small loads, they say I'm under filling it. Nothing like, "Blame it on the customer" as an excuse not to fix a very badly designed product. Very, very unhappy with this dryer. ... show more

  • It’s been a couple months
Love love love! No issues although it’s only been 2 months. Easy to use. The lint trap is so easy to just wipe out. No big plastic janky piece to pull out and have break. No over heating. Does great on small Delicate loads to towels to even comforters! Probably our best purchase in years.

  • Loved my old Speed Queen dryer, but not my new DC5
My DC5 is not getting my clothes dry when I use the more/less dry settings. First the knobs are difficult because they are designed with this tiny space for landing it on more dry or less dry- but then a big huge space for cool down and extended tumble. Then if you decide to just use the timed dry, it seems to only run at the hottest drying level - dryer gets very hot. My clothes are coming out wrinkled even when I get them out before it ever stops. And the door on this one sounds like a tin can - compared to the heavy solid feeling door on my last one (that was about 10 years old). The lint unit is easy to clean, but too open and messy. Sadly, everything about this new model is a big letdown - and a big step-down from their older models. I've been a raving Speed Queen fan - and have gotten numerous family members and friends to buy them - but this particular model is not a good one. ... show more

  • Does not shut off automatically
We bought our Speed Queen dryer for two reasons: 1-- it was Made in USA and 2-- it was in stock in the summer of 2022. This is a very expensive dryer at $1250 compared to others at around $500. Within months of taking delivery we noticed it would sometimes run all night without shutting off. It was still heating so that's a big waste of electricity. We had it repaired under warranty. The tech swapped out "the only two parts it could be", namely the timer and the sensor. This morning at 7:30 I noticed that a small load of towels I put in last night at 11:00 was still going, and the unit was still heating. Called for another warranty repair and the unit is less than one year old! Could it be another bad sensor or timer? Or is there something else going on? I am all for Made in USA, in fact I am a stickler for it. But Speed Queen is not the only brand that's Made in USA. Lok elsewhere and save your money. ... show more

  • Great dryer
This DC5 dryer from speed queen is quiet. I'm looking forward to it lasting 25 years as sturdy as it's built. I love the light that comes on when you open the door. And at first I didn't like the open-style lint trap, but then I learned you can buy a plate to cover it that has large slots, so your clothes don't fall into the lint trap. You MUST buy it for $5. It's great. It's part# is D510502LG. ... show more

  • Not reliable, but when it works, it does dry
We have had this dryer for almost 3 years now and the heating element has had to be replaced twice (under warranty). Each time they tell me that the vent is the cause. We had the vent cleaned after the first time and the air is flowing through it just fine (I will have it cleaned again for safety). As far as I am concerned, it is a bad design, when components fail twice in 3 years. On the other hand, our Speed Queen washer has been flawless. ... show more

  • Disappointed in Speed Queen's Customer Support
I purchased a Speed Queen Washer and Dryer in 2018. The washer has been great, but the dryer has experienced problems since it was purchased. In 4 years, I had warranty repairs for a door latch, heating element and the rollers were replaced this year (2023). Four warrantied repairs in less that 5 years and the rollers have gone bad yet again! When I contacted customer service to discuss extending the warranty (based on the bad history of the machine) they had on mercy! I'm now faced with a repair cost that's half the value of the machine. ... show more
