I tried this out and at idle it seems to work as my slightly larger filters, but running the truck, the motor was running a bit rich and having trouble on inclines and rapid acceleration on the highway. I switched back to my old filter which is about 1.5 to 2 inches longer and the issues disappeared. The quality of the filter itself is great and sucks in a significant amount of air, but my truck just didn't quite like it, even after disconnecting the battery a few times to reset the computer. My truck is a Toyota Tacoma 3.4L V6 with 35 inch mud tires. If it was still stock, I might have had better results. ... show more

Slapped this bad boy on as a cheap stop gap but it's actually nice and I'm gonna keep it. Just got back from the Dyno and did pulls with this filter and then ones with a filterless velocity stack. The tuner assumed the velocity would make more power but there was no difference between them. That's a win in my book. ... show more

This air filter is a super cheap and an affective way to make you can sound and perfor better. The sound it makes is wonderful, it's not loud enough that it gets annoying but it's got a nice deep gergal and a wees in the low rpm. I've noticed that my mpg has gone down by 2 but I think it's worth it. Installing it was super easy and took me about 10 minutes.     • Looks cheap get what you pay for i guess
I like spectre because they are domestic and have a lot of product in stores but seriously the quality isnt there anymore i wish i spent $30 more and gotten knn. The other spectre filter rusts really quick and gets spotty, spins, comes apart, cant clean it. This one just looks cheap unattractive

Had a K & N filter before this one. When compared to the K & N filter, this filter looks more durable and better made than the K & N filter -at a substantially lower price.

This appears to be a good alternative to higher priced competitors. The only con is that is did not come with a clamp.

    • Fits 3 inch pipe. Ha!
So apparently this filter fits a 3 inch pipe. It takes a little work for it to fit due to the ribs inside the entry point of the filter. Also this filter does not come with a clamp. The filter quality is good though
