  • Great out of the box!
Having done digital art as a hobby for over 10 years, I decided to start doing art with actual mediums. Recently I got a beginner airbrush kit (airbrush, compressor, some basic tools). It works, but I noticed the airbrush would always clog, even with overly thinned paint. And I have to dismantle the airbrush to clear the clog. I chalked that up to my lack of experience and soldiered on with it. Until I got a cordless airbrush that rarely clogs and when it does, a couple of dabs with a brush dipped in airbrush cleaner is all it takes to clear it! I immediately ordered some new needles here on Amazon, and after placing the order, I saw this and couldn't help but buy it, reasoning that if the needles didn't help, I'd at least have a good airbrush in this one...hopefully. My hope came true. This airbrush's quality is far and away better than my first one. Granted, this costs a lot more than the entry level one I have, but I have seen reviews for high end airbrushes that complained about lack of quality, so I am still glad to state that so far, this airbrush has been great. Like my cordless one, this one rarely clogs and when it does, it's just a bit of tip drying which is easily cleared with a brush and airbrush cleaner. It's been relieving to learn through this airbrush that my inexperience isn't what's been causing clogs. Even dismantling this Sparmax and my first airbrush, the difference in quality is very noticeable. The components of this airbrush look and fit markedly better than the components of my first airbrush. This airbrush has also been encouraging to practice. Since this airbrush flows paint so much more consistently and cleanly, I'm able to better scrutinize my work and identify where I need to focus on practicing. This airbrush has also revealed to me that the compressor I have sometimes falters in delivering a constant airflow. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this airbrush, and simply using it has liberated me from incorrect assumptions and is making me a better airbrush artist. While I don't have years of experience and hands-on time with several other airbrush models, I do see this one as an excellent "bang for the buck" value. It's not as pricey as high end airbrushes, but it's so much better in quality than many entry level airbrushes as well. ... show more

  • What a difference good tools do to help you learn…
Started off the hobby with the cheapo Master Airbrush types. Don’t get me wrong, they worked alright for the very first models I painted, but there we’re definitely problems with clogging and parts quality. Finally got to the point where I could get an Iwata and a Sparmax and oh boy, how quality tools help you (duh). After fine tuning the pressure to about 20 psi, the Tamiya paint went on as if the parts were molded in black. The cup is a little small as others have noted, but it’s a quality brush from a respected company. Paired with an upgraded compressor, my spraying has gone to another level. ... show more

  • Great for basecoating
I had been looking for a decent quality air brush in order to basecoat miniatures without spending a ton on one of the bigger names. The Sparmax SP35 more than fits the bill. I had no issues with clogging or spattering while using it. The action is very smooth and the parts upon disassembly seemed to be of a very high quality. I would go as far as to say it may be about on par with an Iwata but at a cheaper price. ... show more

  • Great for beginners to your hobby of choice
Started mini painting for 40K and this thing is a life saver. This combine with a decent compressor will get you primed, based, and more with little hastle. Look up how to clean and maintain your air brush and this thing will treat you right. I've even used it for metallics. Cons would probably have to be cup size is too small for large projects (4 or more minis), and personally I'm going to prefer the trigger style air brush due to hand issues (quick to cramp). ... show more

  • Amazing Starter Airbrush!
If you’re a beginner interested in airbrushing miniatures this is definitely the move! I have painted over 3000 points of models and have had little to no issues! Just keep it clean and learn how to disassemble and reassemble the brush, and you will be good to go!

  • Amazing beginner air brush
So this air brush is awesome, it has a really nice weight to it, it’s dual action as well as gravity fed. it comes in a really nice case that holds spare and interchangeable parts along with a tool that’s held securely. You can leave it in its case and it will sit in the case firmly. All in all a great airbrush, I’m thinking about picking up another. ... show more

  • Tiny cup, makes using it a pain.
The cup is WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY too small to do anything with, I had to fill it 6 times just to basecoat an 8" diorama sized figure. Where can I find a bigger cup? Save yourself the time and agony and buy something you can put a bigger cup on. Quality and fit and finish are great. but what good is that if you run out of paint in under 30 seconds and then have to constantly clean it even before getting down one coat? Can't even basecoat an 8" figure you will have to stop and clean it multiple times but if the cup were bigger you wouldn't be having those same problems. ... show more
