  • Bad amazon customer service and even worse South Shore Furniture customer service
Color: Pure White
I was misled to believe that the product was fully operational instead, I only got delivery of the top portion of the desk, albeit the top was in good condition without the legs the desk isn';t fully operational. South Shore Furniture took themselves out completely and Amazon did as well. For all, I know the legs are sitting in the amazon warehouse but no one helps me. J.Moreno ... show more

  • Came a little bit damaged
It showed up a tiny bit damaged at a corner but fortunately it had an extra screw with it so I was able to repair the damaged area quite easily. My only other fuss about this is that it's VERY easy to leave a water/liquid stain on the surface. Otherwise this is a great product!

  • Suits me needs perfectly after a few mods
I was a bit nervous buying this without any reviews, but it looked like what I needed and took the plunge and am pretty satisfied with the result. The desktop cabinet is the perfect height for my laptop stand and monitors, and (with a purchase of a new USB-C dual monitor adapter - Stepro UCN3525-1) the cable clutter is well hidden. Because I needed 3 plugs for this equipment, I also added a wall mountable power strip. The lift control has 3 presets, which is the exact number I use - so perfect for me. The control panel is a capacitive touch (no physical buttons) which I'm not a fan of and was worried about accidentally hitting it. However, it normally is in a sleep mode where the display is off. In order to change the height, you have to touch any of the buttons first to wake it up, then touch the preset that you want. Although not as good as actual buttons, this UI isn't bad at all and it hasn't been a problem. The drawer is some kind of plastic, and is on nice ball bearing sliders. It can easily be left off or replaced by a larger drawer if needed - it just screws to the bottom of the desk. It's about an inch deep and works well. I was initially a bit irritated that the power layout hadn't been thought out. Yes, there's a built-in set of two outlets, but it just comes out the back as an extension cord and competes for plug space with the lift mechanism, which is completely separate. The box that houses the outlets contains a lot of space that's not accessible after assembly except for a small opening in the back of the desk. To make it better, I used a hole saw to make an opening in the desk top under the power box and ran an extension cord with three outlets in to that box allowing me to cleanly tie the lift mechanism, built-in two outlets and a newly installed power strip into a single plug that goes to the wall. The power strip was just a simple one I picked up here on Amazon that can wall mount (TROND Surge Protector Power Strip with USB, Flat Plug, Screw Wall Mountable, 3ft Extension Cord). I disassembled the box and notched the corner of one of the boards to accommodate the cord. It all came out nice and clean. Assembly was a bit of a puzzle. For the first part of assembly (steps 6-12, where you put together the lift) none of the part markings match the instructions. For instance, in the manual there's a screw labelled "613-11" but there's no package with that mark - that screw is marked in the bag "#12x3/4". There's a few screws that are similar but not the same, so it's pretty important to get it right. Counting the necessary screws in the pictures then counting the screws in the baggies allowed me to figure out which was which. Several holes weren't pre-drilled - some are noted in the instructions, but others weren't. I used my drill with a small bit to pre-drill the holes that the factory missed. This kit uses split spring lock washers which are generally no longer used because they don't actually do anything. I don't anticipate them backing out as I don't think this desk would see THAT much vibration, but I tightened them up as solid as I could anyway. If I find that they've come loose after some use, I'll add some locktite as needed. After I assembled the lower part of the desk, I flipped it over and finished building the cabinet using my just-finished desk and a spare chunk of packing material to protect the surface. This made the work much nicer. So the upshot is that the assembly was a bit of a challenge and the power wasn't integrated. However I was able to work out the assembly challenges and made some mods to get the power distribution cleaned up. That was a few hours, but now I'll likely use this desk for years. I'm 6'1" and it fits me wonderfully. The laminate surface looks good and is nice to the touch. The edges of the desktop are slightly rounded and aren't sharp - the have a nice feel. (The cabinet edges are sharp, but I don't rest my hands there.) I can easily go between sitting and standing and my work surface follows me. The mechanism is quiet and smooth. I'm quite happy with this purchase and I think this desk will work for me for years. ... show more
