  • Tastes good - works
I have been using Source Naturals melatonin for years, but especially recommend the 1 mg peppermint. The peppermint flavor is better for sleep (for me anyway) than the orange - as peppermint is not a food to me and doesn’t stimulate hunger. And I’ve used the 2.5 mg and 3 mg, but I always come back to the 1mg because I may take an additional one if I wake up after 2-4 hours, which I can’t with the higher dose - and even with taking another one, I end up using less per night and never am drowsy the next day. I have also found that only when melatonin is taken sublingually is it effective for me. If the melatonin is in a pill or gummy, it seems to have no effect. So these are effective while taking less melatonin and the peppermint flavor is soothing and doesn’t stimulate appetite in any way. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Just What I Needed
I had originally gotten a higher dose and I was breaking tablets up -- what a mess. I've found that 1 mg is usually all I need. I have self-diagnosed Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder -- it's pretty obvious really. Left without any obligations I get a burst of energy about 10 PM and will stay up until 1:00 or 2:00 AM, then sleep until 9:00 AM or 10 AM. I've spent my whole life sleep deprived and that was the only reason I could fall asleep at close to a normal hour. I've read that I should take the melatonin about 1.5 - 2 hours before I want to sleep for DSPD (midnight would make me happy), but since I can't drive after I take it that wasn't practical and I couldn't stick with it. I've started taking it when I get into bed instead, and it has helped enormously. Well, I still tend to stay up late and get up late, but not to the same extreme and I'm retired so that's my choice. With the melatonin when I really need to fall asleep early I usually can, and if I wake up during the night (as I do when I go to bed "early") I just take another 1 mg. and go back to sleep. These are nice little tablets that dissolve easily under my tongue. They have a pleasant peppermint taste. Perfect. ... show more

  • Easy to take
They are really easy to take, and they are great for getting over jetlag and still waking up refreshed.

  • Actually Works
Actually works. A friend of mine had me try this awhile back, and while I was skeptical I couldn't believe how well it worked as I got into bed and fell asleep before I knew it. More recently I had an issue where I couldn't help but stay up until at least 2am and wake up after 10am (not great for a regular work day). To fix the issue I thought I'd give this a try, and low and behold it worked: I took it 30 minutes before I planned to go to bed (at 8pm) and started getting tired in 15 minutes, after that I hit my head on the pillow and was out soon after. No dreams later I woke up at 1am wide awake, so I took another pill but fell asleep a bit slower that time (more like 45 minutes later). Finally I woke up to my alarm at 4am well rested (a dramatic change from waking up at least by 10am), and I did take a caffeine pill soon after to make sure I stayed up. Ultimately this stuff worked wonders, and I'm glad to be on a decent sleeping schedule again. ... show more

  • Taste great
I know they're sublingual, but I chew them anyway. They work well and fyi, these used to be labeled 'tablets', so when the label was changed to lozenges, I was reluctant to buy them because I was expecting like a cough drop. So, I was happy to discover that these are the tablets I used to take.

  • Excellent relaxing aid
This is a repeat purpose. While I don’t use it to make me fall asleep it is a relaxing aid to help me sleep peacefully. I have used this small dose for years being introduced to them while traveling for business.

  • A Happier House
I buy melatonin for my four-year-old because his pediatrician recommends it. My son doesn't know what SLEEP means. Believe me. I have four years' worth of bags under my eyes to prove it. The regular kind I buy was only available as an add-on item for some reason, so I decided to try this one. The other one was a fruity flavor, but he likes mint gum, so I decided to give it a try. Be warned, the mint taste is strong. He likes it, but his face when he first tried was shocked. He happens to like stuff like York patties though, so he was okay with it. It seems to work as well as the other. We don't give it every night, only once in a while, so it's easy to tell he sleeps A BIT better when he takes it. Instead of waking up 5 times and ending up in my bed, he only wakes up once or twice and can be soothed back into his own. Supposedly will help to regulate his own levels of melatonin. Let's hope so. ... show more
