I have the older version and the rubber is definitely thicker and more durable on these. I think these are more cushioned and comfortable as well. I love everything about these. There was absolutely no break in period and they were comfortable from the moment I put them on. They're super cute and very warm. We got several inches of fluffy snow in Minnesota and I wore these to take the dog out in the morning before the sidewalks were cleared so I walked around for ~10 minutes in ankle deep snow and my feet stayed dry. I put these on about an hour later and they were still dry, then went out and wiped off my car in the same conditions and they were still dry after that. I'm super impressed with these and they were so worth the price. My only note is that the fleece inside the ankle cuffs is a little loose so when I put my foot inside, it pulls on the structure of the boot a little and makes it look and feel weird. I just have to pull up on the fabric after I put the boot on and all is right again. ... show more

I dropped a star because I feel like the toe box is kind of narrow. Maybe because they are a cross btwn boot & sneaker. I don't have wide feet, and stuck with my true size. They fit fine everywhere else, are really comfy and warm. I love how they look (although the sparkly wool accent is a bit extra for me) If you need more room in your toes, the toe box might be a problem. ... show more

I loved these boots! They're cute, and sooo comfortable. My advice is to size up, usually I'm a 6, but for these ones, a 7,5 was perfect for me, especially because I was wearing a thicker pair of wool socks. I spent a week walking and playing with snow and it kept me warm and dry. Just go for it.

After years of using the same boots every winter, I finally said I’d get new ones. After a few different pairs of snow boots I finally found some. I sized up, I wanted more room for when my feet swell as I wear them to work as well and I love wearing fuzzy socks with my snow boots for the extra warmth as I’m always cold. The height isn’t too bad, it’s comfortable. I have bigger calf’s and these are shorter and now too tight or restrictive. My ankles aren’t perfectly straight so after a few days of continuous use they do become a little sore from being in proper alignment. They’re light so I can wear these at work with no issues, I haven’t done too much outside in the snow activities with them but, they’re great for a few inches of snow on the ground, walking from the car to stores, working in. ... show more
