This is my 3rd Sorel boot and the sizing is very consistent with all three styles. For this style, the Cate lace up, you have to wear a nylon or very thin trouser sock not a regular sock. The boot is intended to be more of a dress boot than a snow boot. If you size up the boot will be too long. I typically wear a 6.5 and that is what I ordered it fit with a knee high nylon. The smooth leather is a bit stiff but over time will soften up and it did not affect the comfort. I wore the boots the first time today and they were soooo comfortable ran a couple of hours worth of errands. Looks great with straight leg or wide leg jeans. Lots of reviews said to order a size up but that isn’t necessary with the right sock. I like the quiet rugged no slip sole and block heel which is very sturdy and it doesn’t feel like a high heel at all. My other Sorel boots are over 5 years old still in great shape. Glad to see a quality shoe company still exists today these are really well made comfortable boots worth the price. ... show more

I like that these boots are comfortable and that they are adjustable lace ups and fit a little higher on the ankle and lower leg. I have several pairs of Sorel boots and now I will only buy boots and skip one that are waterproof. These boots also look nice with some dresses and skirts. I have a pair of black suede out and about slip on Sorel shoes, which I love. I wish they were available in leather and/or other lighter colors. ... show more

I had a friends who raved about Sorel footwear. I purchased a different style and the ankel opening was too large and made it look like I had cankles. I purchased this style hoping for a more slim fit and they are perfect. The color is a nice dark green, not a jolly green giant. The heel height is very comfortable to walk in and the leather is flexible right out of the box, no break in time needed. My size is 6.5 to 7 and I ordered a 6.5 and it fit perfectly. I don't have wide or narrow feet but do have a higher arch and planter fasciitis from time to time and these were comfortable to wear all day. ... show more

Over the course of 4+ years I periodically searched for boots like these and I'm so happy I finally found them. It seems impossible to get genuine leather boots with a mid-size heel that don't have a zipper up the side. These a a nice color, soft leather, and lace-up only, with a durable sole. I haven't gone sloshing through puddles in them yet, but I'm confident they'll keep my feet dry. The design of the shoelace eyelets definitely helps with that. A note about size: I'm a 9.5 in pretty much every shoe I've bought ever. I have pretty slim feet. After reading reviews, I initially ordered a 10 in these boots and they were definitely too big. I could've pulled them off with insoles and a thick pair of socks, but why struggle? Thanks to prime, I was able to return them and order a 9.5, and they're great. Ever so slightly tight on the toes when I wear my insoles, but the leather will stretch. Overall, I would recommend these. ... show more

I went half a size up as recommended by other reviews and am happy I did. I haven't worn them in the wet yet, but if they are waterproof as advertised then this will be an excellent purchase. comfy and stylish.
