Turf tile is a must

I bought these for my deck and my dogs’ paws because it gets extremely hot during the summer. They work incredibly well, promoting excellent circulation and keeping their paws cool on scorching summer days. However, they tend to slide around a lot, so I used some heavy plants to prevent them from moving. Overall, it’s a great purchase, and I highly recommend it. They also look great on the deck.

Multi-use Grass Tiles but Difficult to Trim
Size: 6 Pack
These realistic grass tiles from the Sorbus store are a little different to other grass pads that we've ordered before in that they are individual tiles, about 24" square, with a heavy duty plastic backing to assist with drainage. We used most of these to cover some bare sections on our balcony floor which had a similar looking grass mat but noticed that these tiles don't feature as much color variation near the roots as our larger mat. Construction wise, the mats are basically the same but these feature a plastic framework on the back that allows connectivity of the tiles in addition to improved drainage. With this system, you can still tell where the seams are but they still make for an attractive and functional floor covering. If desired, the plastic frame can be separated from the grass tiles but this requires the tedious removal of many short screws that are used to attach the mat to the plastic backing. If you need to trim these mats, the plastic frame does make this a little more difficult as it has significant thickness, requiring snips or a heavy duty knife to cut through the framework. Having the plastic backing frame does make these tiles sit a little higher than unbacked grass mats but this does have its pros and cons. The tiles still feel comfortable under foot but you can feel the plastic frame underneath compared with mats that lay directly on the ground. Overall, these look great but this tile system is not quite as smooth looking as a fixed sized mat. At just under $100 for the 6-pack, these are almost double the price of the equivalent uncut sized mat without the plastic framed backing, so we're giving these 4 stars.

Thick, real-looking grass. Comfortable under feet. Water spreads out, drains slow. Hot in sun.

I got these grass tiles to use outside around the water hose area where it gets muddy, and in the house for our cats to play on. Grass looks pretty realistic, with varying shades of green blades and some finer curled fill deeper down. It's thick and feels good walking on it without shoes. Base structure is sturdy and keeps room for water drainage when on a solid surface like concrete. There was a noticeable smell, which lessened after being outside for a few days, though it almost smells like grass so maybe it's intentional. These are nice quality grass tiles and a decent value. Grass is pretty well fastened to base, though having a panel indoors a few blades fell off here and there. Panels fit together to form nearly seamless grass surface, without noticeable lines where the panel edges are. Panels install and connect (and disconnect) pretty easily, and hold together fine. Grass all folds down the same direction on each panel so they mesh properly and look consistent like one big area of grass. Each panel weighs 3.2 lb. Straightened upwards grass does reach about 1.5". Minor issues: - Gets hot in sun, since there's no water like real grass. I measured 165° F after 20 minutes in the sun, compared to about 130° F for real grass in the sun. - Drainage takes a while as water slowly drips through and soaks the dense grass at the base. A lot of liquid put in one place will spread out rather than just draining where it was spilled, which could be an issue with dogs going on it. - Tiles are 23.5" for the grassy area, so they cover a little less space. - Edge clips only hold together on the side two clips; clips along the middle portion don't grab, just rest together and can lift. - Cutting is difficult. A utility knife hardly cut into it. A small saw or strong scissor-type cutters would probably work. - Reinforced base has 1" gaps around edges which table and chair legs can push into. Other areas are closer spaced.
