Description

Waterhog Fashion Diamond entrance indoor floor mat. No other mat in the industry traps water and dirt so effectively. WaterHog mats are constructed of rubber reinforced face nubs and the "diamond" design provides crush proof scraping action. Raised, "water dam" borders trap dirt and water keeping floors cleaner and safer. These mats are perfect indoors or out, especially outside your front door. The border for WaterHog Fashion features the same 100 percent polypropylene fiber system as the mat surface. Certified slip- resistant by the National Floor Safety Institute. Contains 20 percent recycled rubber content. Fiber type: Needle punched Solution-dyed polypropylene, outstanding light fastness. Weight: 24 oz. per square yard (884 grams per square meter). Nub height: 1/4-inches. Design: square "waffle". Premium 24 oz/sq anti-static polypropylene fiber system dries quickly and won't fade or rot. When wet, the rubber reinforce surface allows water to be wicked to the bottom of the mat away from foot traffic while providing a slip resistant surface. Polypropylene fiber system dries quickly and is suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Colorfast: Solution dyed for excellent light and we fastness. Unique ridged construction effectively stores dirt and moisture beneath shoe level. Exclusive "water dam" border keeps dirt and water in the amt and off the floor, minimizing slip hazards and floor damage. Green friendly rubber backing has 20 percent recycled rubber content and is available in smooth or cleated types. This mat is simple elegance. Not fancy elegance. Simple. This is what I want. The mat is 22-1/2 inches wide and 36 inches long. The back side is black and has small blunt nubs about 1/8 inch apart from the others. Those little nubs appear to keep the mat from slip sliding around. It stays where it is placed on the wood floor. I do not have carpets in my home so am unsure if they will stay anchored.I purchased the Dark Brown 'Diamond' Anderson 221 Waterhog mat. It appears well made, does not reek of any 'poly' smell (even right out of the box) and flattens within a minute when rolled out on the floor. The mat top has grooves that are about 1/4 inch deep to catch ice and snow from your boots. I am not sure what (or where) the 'designer fabric border' is on this mat. It is simply made of what the rest of the mat is made out of...somebody got mighty creative in the marketing department. Maybe it is an option at another outlet. All the photos I've seen are with plain borders. I like this mat and will buy another based on its performance already. We have had three winter snow storms since I bought this mat and it is big enough, at the back door, to help keep the ice and snow right there. I also use the mat to temporarily store those snow boots until they have dried off. The "Water Dam" seems to do its job. The mat does seem to dry quickly as is advertised. Also, we use sand and salt and there has not been any degradation of the mat. So far. The fabric has not crushed down at all and this entrance is used the most in the winter. It has weathered traffic, as well as the ice and snow, very well. I have to say for the price point this is a very good sized mat with deep channels and has been put through its paces in the last two weeks of winter storms. I will give this mat 5 stars because it been effective at keeping snow, ice, and water from being tracked into my home and not spilling over onto the floor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: 05/2015; This mat is still going strong. No breaking down, cracking, sliding, or leaking. Definitely would still recommend this mat. UPDATE: 09/2018; This mat is a wonder of durability.     • This rug works great to keep water, dirt and loose grit at the door

I was having to clean up the entrance area to both the kitchen and our studio, sometimes twice a day. This rug was an essential part of a three part solution for both entrances. It's pricy but that's because it's beefy and well engineered to do what it claims to do and yet looks good. It feels good to walk on it too, and if you wipe your feet (shoes) on it, you can tell you're depositing what remains of any dripping water (if it's raining outside), and loose dirt and grit, (if you live in a rural farm area where there is plenty of dirt around if you walk around to do chores, out past the manicured areas like I do). You need to vacuum it regularly, to remove the loose dirt, but it beats getting loose dirt and grit tracked in all over the house where it turns into fine dust that settles on everything else in the house. I noticed a huge difference right away. I still need to vacuum regularly, but not every day. The amount of dirt and debris carried inside is greatly reduced. For the other two parts of my solution to my problem, I also bought some Durable Durite Recycled Tire Link mats for outside, so water and larger debris can drop off and fall below the surface of the tire material links. That helped a lot too. And for when we have clumped on mud stuck on our shoes, I got the heavy duty commercial grade Carlisle Boot and Shoe brush/scraper. It is built for heavy duty use, and to last. I regret that I didn't know about commercial grade solutions and products that would work great for my housekeeping problem at home, until recently, while researching new flooring options. It was by accident and serendipitous. I am waiting a while before I take another plunge and buy the another set of this rug combined with another tire link mat for our front door. First off, let me just start by saying The Anderson Company has AWESOME customer service! I ordered the 6' x 4' Charcoal mat, and although it never was defective when it arrived, there were a couple of concerns that needed to be addressed. For anyone that needs their mat to be exactly the size indicated, know that they will come out a few inches short of whatever you're expecting, simply due to production and the way they cut the mats. We have a very specific area in which the 6' x 4' would fit perfectly; however, when placed in that area, it falls short (actually measures 5.75' x 3.6'). Also, when our mat arrived, the box was covered in a wet muddy substance on three of the four sides, which penetrated the box onto the mat. Regardless, the mat still looked great and worked like a charm. We immediately noticed how much dirt and grim it took off our shoes from these cold, wet, and muddy Pittsburgh days. Also, the amount of dirt and grass it catches from our dog's paws is far more noticeable than any other mat we've ever owned. Regarding my concerns, I contacted customer service and almost immediately was contacted back from Doug, who was very helpful. Doug explained to me the issues with the sizing and production and that essentially there isn't much you can do; if your area allows, be sure to order the next size up to make up for the difference. Doug also went out of his way and sent us a replacement mat. I took pictures of the original mat to show him what I was talking about, and he ordered a new one for us, which arrived rather rapidly. We couldn't be happier with these mats and the fantastic customer service.
