This pedal (JMD-01) is great to add that little bit of modulation nuance in my pedal chain. Nice color, small footprint, no noticeable noise. I set it on Chorus effect mostly. The mini toggle switch is a little difficult to set. Would have been nicer if it was below the knobs or if it was a knob itself. Otherwise a nice budget pedal. ... show more

it sounds good and I love the value for the money but the button gets stuck on sometimes and if you're at a gig or something using this that could be bad. I'm s bedroom guitar player so it's not going to be a huge deal but if you're giggling with it just know you could keep stepping on it and it won't turn off every once in awhile ... show more

    • Three Classic Modulation Sounds in One Compact Pedal

This is a really versatile little modulation pedal, especially considering how little space it takes up on a pedalboard. Having chorus, flanger, and Uni-Vibe style effects all in one compact pedal gives you a lot of different sounds to experiment with without needing three separate pedals. The CE-1 style chorus has a warm, dimensional character that works nicely for adding movement without overwhelming the original guitar tone. The flanger can go from relatively subtle to much more pronounced, while the Uni-Vibe mode gives you that swirling, psychedelic modulation that's especially fun for vintage rock sounds. The controls are straightforward, with rate, depth, and intensity knobs that make it easy to dial in the effect rather than getting buried in menus. I also really like the tap tempo feature. Being able to synchronize the modulation rate by foot makes the pedal considerably more useful when playing rather than just experimenting with sounds at home. Construction feels solid, and the small metal enclosure is great if pedalboard space is already at a premium. One thing to note is that a power supply is not included, so you'll need a compatible 9V center-negative supply. Overall, this packs an impressive amount of modulation into a very small footprint. It's a fun choice if you like experimenting with classic chorus, flanger, and swirling vibe sounds but don't want to dedicate a large section of your board to them. ... show more

Great pedal, great sound for the chorus, the uni-vibe is a great sound too! Now! the switch is noiseless no those cheap pop! I play bass too and this one sound really good no tone loss on bass at all! With this pedal, you are effectively getting three classic modulation pedals in one. First, you get the CE-1 which gets you the classic Boss/Roland style chorus that is perfect for adding beautiful, lush, clear depth to clean tones. I put it in front of a clean amp (Fender), set the rate to 0, depth to 100%, and intensity to taste (somewhere around 50% or higher) and it immediately took me back to all those classic songs from the 70s/80s/90s that used this chorus. Next up is "SCF FLG" mode which I think is based off the classic TC pedal. I would probably describe this as more of a chorus with some flanger like properties than a classic flanger, but it is an interesting alternative to the CE-1 style chorus that introduces some subtle movement on top of that classic thickness. Finally, you get a Uni-Vibe which set correctly gets you those classic swirly Hendrix/Pink Floyd type sounds. I personally find this pedal worth it just for the CE-1 mode. I've had a lot of chorus pedals that have disappointed me over the years searching for that sound but this pedal nails it. The SCF and Uni-Vibe modes give me additional, interesting options that I will surely get some good use out of. A nice touch is that the LED indicator for the pedal changes color based on the mode you have it in, so you can easily look down as a reminder when the pedal is on. There are some differences between knob labeling compared to the original pedals and also the originals may have had additional settings and inputs/outputs, but this pedal gets you a decent representation of all three. One thing to keep in mind is that if you are using a distortion/overdrive pedal or getting distortion from your amp, modulation pedals react very differently before distortion compared to after. You'll want to experiment with where you put this pedal in your FX chain as well as comparing it in your amp FX loop if it has one to find what works for you. The build quality seems very nice. The housing is either metal or a very hard plastic and seems like it should hold up well on a pedalboard. Another nice touch is that they included both rubber feet and Velcro pads with neither attached. Great pedal! Good chorus sounds. Horrible univibe sound ,not even close and what ever "sound " the vibe setting is going for it's weak and not very good. So 2 out of 3 sounds on this one

I thought this was a good basic modulation pedal for some chorus, vibrato style sounds. The build is really good. IT has a nice aluminum case with metal switch. There's a basic LED to indicate if the effect is active or if you're in bypass mode. Speaking of bypass, I heard no extra noise coming from the circuit in bypass mode. The pedal has a switch with three different effects, a flanger, chorus and ubiquitous "univibe" setting. I thought the flanger was the strongest of the effects. The chorus and univibe were ok, they just didn't blow me away. You can adjust the depth and strength of the effect with the knobs. I found this pedal to be a solid offering. The addition of the univibe sets this pedal apart at this price point. It makes this pedal worth adding to your board if it's in your budget. ... show more
