Went with the renewed option to save some money that I'd rather spend on lenses. After buying a renewed lens that came in a generic box and missing the lens hood, I was worried the same would happen with this camera. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and found the original Sony box wi5h minimal to no wear and all pieces inside in original packaging. Took a couple shots to see the shutter count and I almost fell out my chair when I saw that the first two photos I took were the first two photos in the camera! It works and operates as it should, but the lack of firmware support and the poor performance in the digital FPS department compared to Sony competitors. The camera was in pretty pristine condition (minus the sensor which I had to clean). Unfortunately, they sent a grey market used camera, which is not acceptable. You can tell because the factory settings after a camera wipe is set to PAL/European recording settings, NOT NTSC/US recording settings if it was a legit US model. Promptly initiated a return for it. Love this thing, literally no difference from brand new. Immaculate. Took a dozen or so photos myself before checking the shutter count. It was 26… the shutter had been fired off 10-15 times before I took ownership of this camera.
