  • Sonicake 4ch Mixer
This product works well let me tell you what I've learned compared to other reviews on here. The mic pres are not noisy they do require you turn up the volume n gain quite a bit tho. The noise you may here coming from headphones is just that from the headphone amp n not the mic pres. The headphones are quite noisy but that noise does not translate to recordings. It's separate noise from the mic pre and is only on headphones when you crank it past 12 o clock, which is a common thing on a lot of interfaces. This amp has lots of features for the money like added 1/8" inputs for streaming and loop back inputs. One thing about the fx is you can't edit them there preset and the fx knob is just basically like a wet dry/volume knob. In the picture you see my mic stand setup. I am running this mixer into my m-audio 2x2m interface using this mixer for some of it's fx, and using my m audio interface for boost from its crystal preamps. Also one other thing you may need to run the USB mini jack power source and USB bus power at the same time for added voltage on the phantom power. You need to run both power sources and or a powered hub for microphones that require more ampridge and are more heavy duty mics in order to power them correctly. ... show more

  • Stopped working in an hour
Model: QAI-100
Unfortunately I did not use this until 5 weeks after it was delivered, so I am outside of the return window. It worked just fine, but 1 hour in the sound suddenly dimmed too low to hear and no adjustments would make it any louder. Tried 2 computers and a phone and all had such low volume it wasn’t able to be heard in the venue. When it was working you could hear a humming noise in the background between songs but not so horrible that it made it unacceptable for the price. Just wish it had still kept working. ... show more

  • Nice little mixer
Model: QAI-100
Great little mixer, I used it with a 20w powered speaker in my classroom for students to present projects and play audio from the computer through.

  • Not Bad!
Model: QAI-100
I use this little guy to mix some of my DAWless electronic music gear, and its performance is great for the price. The build quality is light and plasticky, so I won't bank on it for a life of road usage, but it's pretty sweet for at home.

  • Works well but may need a powered USB hub
Model: QAI-100
First, this is a great audio only interface for someone doing Podcasts or small recording projects that don’t need high bit rates. I tested this on a 2019 Intel based MacBook Pro with an external USB hub (HyperDrive). I have two SSDs also connected. A 1 TB and a 2 TB SSD. Because of the number of devices I had attached, I had trouble making the audio interface work at first. It kept powering up and down because it couldn’t get enough power from the hub. I fixed the problem by powering the hub externally, rather than from the computer. You may find that you need a powered USB hub as well. Since the interface is a USB A device and the laptop only had USB C interfaces, I had to use a hub to connect the audio device and that may have exacerbated the problem. Once I got the interface powered, I found two new audio devices in my control panel. They were USB PnP Audio Device and USBAudio2.0. I had to choose USBAudio2.0 for it to work. The software that I used to test it was Studio One Pro and Dorico Pro. It worked flawlessly with them for both audio input and audio output. I connected both a Shure SM58 which does not use 48V phantom power and a Marshal MXL 990 condenser mic that does require the 48V phantom power. Both worked flawlessly with the audio interface and sounded good. For audio output, I connected both outputs to my Peavy keyboard amp. Again, the interface worked great and gave good sound. I tested the Hi-Z input with my Stratocaster. The interface worked great. The headphone amp is strong, better than my computers headphone out. Overall, this is a good value and a surprisingly good sounding interface. ... show more

  • It has some quirks
Model: QAI-100
I was not expecting stellar sound quality given the price point. Actually the sound quality was passable, but the preamps in this unit did not do nearly enough. I tried 3 mics and they all barely registered on the signal indication. I was using the analog outs on this unit to plug into a camera, and I had to turn the gain ALL the way up on the camera and every knob almost all the way up on the mixer, and this signal was barely where it needed to be. It worked for what I needed but I'll likely retire it because if I ever need to use a particularly weak source, this would not work. ... show more
