Simple small shelving for a small area ... sturdy, the metal construction provides a stable unit. I put it together (in the car) while my wife was in a 1-hour Physical Therapy session. Seriously. The "shelf liners" are nice ... made our placement of the shelving fit in more as we used the dark wood blending with adjacent desk and grandfather clock) We thought we would have only 'white' or 'black' choices for the liner. Even though the shelving poles only come in black. The heights between the shelves easily may be modified. You may even choose to not use one, or two, of the shelves .... easily done. In some ways it may be modified to fit your need. Very versatile. Remember there is only 11.5" storage space. The raised lip is 1/2", keeping items from easily falling off. This is a smaller version of the 'metro' industrial-style wire shelving units I've used many times before. Unlike most of these wire shelving units, this one is designed so that the lip around the edges of each shelf faces upwards instead of downwards. This made it a little more awkward to fit everything I'd intended onto the shelves, but I made it work. It is great that it comes with pre-cut sheets of thick plastic shelf liner, so that I didn't have to spend time and money making my own shelf liners like I've done for my other wire shelves. It was made to the same quality standards as the similar larger wire shelving units I've used from other brands. Smooth chrome finish, all parts properly-formed, easy to assemble. The plastic support pieces are comparable to others I've used on much larger shelving units, which have no problem supporting hundreds of pounds per shelf for decades when properly seated; anyone complaining about that just needs more practice assembling this type of shelving unit. They are always extremely sturdy when properly assembled. I like to use wire grids from wire cube shelves to make side walls for my wire shelving units (they can be held on with strips of cable-tie velcro, or with zip-ties). This one is smaller than usual, so instead of using my usual cube shelf pieces that are about 14 inches wide, I found some that are about 12 inches wide: BASTUO Wire Cube Storage Cabinet 6 Cubes (ASIN B07CYT5MW3). It comes with enough wire grid pieces to make side walls for two of these SONGMICS shelves, so if I ever eventually find room for a second matching shelf, I'll be ready. I purchased these shelves in July of 2021 and writing this review after six months of use. The shelves were easy to assemble, sturdy, and fit nicely into a small space I had. There is a trick to attaching the plastic holders to the poles, and if you don't hear a click, you did not attach them right. It is crucial to make sure that the arrows point in the right direction, then slide them over the grove until you hear a slight click, and then you are ready to slide the shelves over them. I liked that the shelves have a small ridge to prevent things from falling off, and the silicone liners allow me to keep small things on the shelves without worrying that they will fall out. Seems sturdy enough but one of the poles came warped, and uneven, and the connection poles unscrew easily while assembling so that was annoying, I'm slightly disappointed. Although It still looks nice and it does it's job.
