Description

Double translucent white colored vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. 2021 release. Over the course of her lush, expansive, defiantly sprawling album, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, the Ivor Novello-Award-winning, Mercury nominated Little Simz delivers an undeniable modern classic, effortlessly condensing any number of disparate styles and genres into music which thrillingly broaches the gap between urgent modern treatise and hip hop. A bold, quantum leap forward from the critically beloved "Grey Area", this is hardly music aiming simply for the pop charts; rather, it is turbo charged with the kind of fury and potency, confusion and anxiety that make up the modern experience of being Black, British and female at this particular point in time. This is no mere philosophical exercise, however - the result is her most ambitious and soaring body of work to date, one which operates at the very heights of what rap can be.

  • Good album
Feel like this is her most solid album thus far, a real coming of age album.

  • Fast shipping, great album
It’s a really cool album. I guess a British female hip-hop artist is pretty niche, but it’s a really cool album. Shipping was fast, packaging was secure. Thank you!

  • Looks beautiful on vinyl
Album of the year. Amazing piece of work and there were a lot of good albums this year. The milky vinyl looks gorgeous in person and I’m so happy to own this!

  • Well Worth the Listen
I really enjoyed some songs on this album and others were quite flat. In some songs, Simz will deliver lines that are quite personal and honest, and some interpersonal situations that are familiar to introverts. In others, she lets her ego take center stage on tracks just a little too much for my liking. It is not Simz' ego that is so much the problem. It is just that some of her braggadocio/self-focused cuts here are not as clever or energetic as they could have been. Simz has shown in her prior project, "Grey Area" that she was capable of creating tracks with wit and energy like "Offence", "Boss", and "Venom". So I was expecting a little more growth here. The second verse of "Speed", Simz lyrics and flow felt like they came from an off-the-top freestyle... "How Did You Get Here" has an honest intent and a nice message, but it just feels clunky and the tone and delivery seems too plain to serve as lasting inspiration or a track that stays in rotation. With that being said, the imagery and language choices on "Rollin Stone" here are plain fun and entertaining. I am not big on the interludes, but many I have grown to appreciate, and in the right moments they can resonate. Usually, I skip them. In summary, this album is great, definitely worth the listen, and it can be a grower. Simz could be a little more spirited in some tracks, but all her performances are serviceable and nothing blatantly bad about them. Inflo's production is very grand and very accessible here, he is a terrific producer. However, I feel the production more appropriately complimented the themes/sentiments of tracks in "Grey Area" than they do here. 8-10/10 ⭐: - Introvert 10 - Woman 10 - I Love You, I Hate You (perhaps best song on whole album, absolute 10!) - Little Q Pt. 2 9 - Standing Ovation 9 - I See You 8 - Rollin Stone 8 - Point and Kill 10 - Fear No Man 8 - Miss Understood 9 Inclined to Skip: - Interludes - Two Worlds Apart - Speed - Protect My Energy ... show more

  • Impeccable corporation-to-average-citizen transaction in the 21st century
It just might be the anonymous transaction of the year.

  • This is a poor vinyl pressing
My rating is based on the vinyl pressing not the quality of the songs. This a great album as I already knew BUT this vinyl pressing is terrible. The audio is quiet…voice comes out distorted.
