  • Good Quality Inflatable Kayak for the Price Point; early on but no major issues
Color: Durango Fabric Covered Kayak (1-2P)
So far taken for one trip on calm/flat pond. cannot speak to performance in white water but does have a drain feature that would allow water to pass during rapid movement. Great performance, easy to inflate with provided foot pump (~5-10 min setup). Nice quality fabric and materials, but still very light and easy to move around with one person. 4 handles to grab, one at each end and then two on the sides. went over a rock a few inches below the waterline and scratched the hull, but did not puncture the bottom. 3 separate chambers so felt comfortable would stay afloat if the bottom leaked. My wife and I are both under 5'9, so we fit OK in two person tandem config. person in back had to sit with knees up or cross leg, person in front can stretch legs. If you were a couple of 6'+ people, this would be a very tight fit and not recommended for 2. one person would be fine regardless. weight wise we are under the 400 lb recommended weight max, so no issues with poor buoyancy. critical when setting up seats, if done incorrect the seats will fall back under weight (as mentioned in other reviews) as the zipper mechanism to convert the seat from flat/fold into a "L" are just to hold the position and can't support weight. each seat has 4 anchor straps which hook into the kayak. Two on top along the middle of your back, two on bottom along the base of the seat. the two on top MUST be hooked into anchor points in front of the seat and tightened to desired "lean back" angle. two on the bottom should be anchored behind to keep seat from sliding forward. there is Velcro on the bottom of the seat and the floor of the kayak, but i can't imagine that will last over time. One negative, the anchor point did poke a bit into the side, may be how / where I anchored the seats. Seat configuration is adjustable. tear-down/pack was quick, almost instant deflate once the valves were opened. a little tricky getting it back in the bag but not impossible figure it out. long term concerns, the values holding up over time. really neat screw mechanism, but very thin layer of rubber. imagine these will wear and then not sure how long it will stay inflated :) hence the 4 star on durability. ... show more

  • This is a good kayak !!!!
Color: Durango Fabric Covered Kayak (1-2P)
This is my first inflatable kayak, and is a great buy. It is easy and quick to setup if you have a good pump. it tracks way better than I was expecting, as good as my mid range hard kayak. You do have to work a little harder when going against the wind but still tracked great and wasn't blown around, but I wouldn't use in strong winds on a flat lake. The build quality is real good! has a heavy duty nylon over the top half that gives it a quality feel, and offers a good deal of protection from anything that might puncture it (not sure i would any fish hooks around it though). The toughness of the bottom is adequate. The seats are good and provide decent support, they have 2 bottle holders each and a small pouch to hold whatever. I needed to tightened the straps on occasion to keep the back support firm but the straps for the seat are easy to access so this was not a issue for me. I am over 6ft tall and with both seats in I can fully extend my legs in the front, in the back seat I have to sit with bent knees or cross legged. I was still comfortable but a long trip would leave me needing to stretch my legs out. With a single seat there is plenty of room to pack lots of gear. I would not hesitate to take this on a down river camping trip or battle a few rapids. It has a couple of tie down spots to secure any gear you have. The only real down side I can say is the nylon does not dry quickly and you don't want to pack it up wet and leave it. so expect extra time before you pack it up, or unfold it when you get home to let it dry out. ... show more

  • It's good and rugged
Color: Flare Performance Kayak (1-2P)
I got this kayak last summer and took it on lakes, rivers, and oceans bays. After getting over the initial uneasiness when scraping this inflatable canoe over rocks and logs, i always feel safe and secure. It has always come out without a scratch. I just took it out for the first time this summer and it still holds air and came out of storage at 100% with not air leaks. I have taken it out alone, with two people, and also on a camping trip and it made for a good little cargo ship. It does get blown around and wobbles back and forth when you paddle more than a hard shell kayak... But i think that is just the characteristic of a light inflatable that sits higher up out of the water. Overall it works how you expect and I think it is a good product. It is kind of half way between a kayak and canoe. However, and this is just something to consider when buying an inflatable, and is not specific to this kayak; the process of unpacking it, inflating it, drying it, deflating it, drying it some more and packing it away, takes away from the convenience. The only advantage of this over a hard shell kayak is that it takes up less storage space. If I had a garage, or a deck to throw it under for the winter, I would get a hard shell kayak or canoe. It is not an issue for me loading a boat up on top of may car. I had a traditional canoe in the past, and i feel like putting it up on the car and hitting the road is less work than the whole inflating and deflating process. Just my opinion. As for this specific kayak. I think it is a good inflatable kayak. ... show more

  • Too narrow for comfort.
Color: Flare Performance Kayak (1P)
I read the reviews which sounded all good and purchased this boat for a friend. It appears to be good quality and simple set up for the $ but the problem for me was that it was too narrow in the hips for comfort. So strange that no one else mentions this. I'm 5'6" and 140 lbs. which I would consider slender. The boat was so tight in the hips that I was sore for a week after a leisurely trip on the lake. Is it possible that I purchased a child-size we wondered? I"m not an overly sensitive person or one that must be comfortable at all times and in fact, I'm more of a white water kayaker and have an Aire Lynx. I purchased the Solstice for a friend who wants to frolic around on the lake. etc. and yet this was a 'return item' for me after one trip. I'd be interested in hearing if anyone else had this issue! Sounds like there are some men writing reviews and I'm sure they are much larger than me and no one spoke of it. Perhaps it's a fluke but my hips hurt just looking at this boat. Sorry! ... show more

  • Exceeded expectations
Color: Flare Performance Kayak (1P)
This thing is so light and agile also can take a hit very rugged and with a SUP battery powered inflator your on the water in 6 minutes flat Very durable construction and even folds up and goes in its bag with room to spare! I love this thing I may buy another and keep the two seater at home I do have one complaint that one of the seat tie downs did break on me the first time I went out and I had to manually secure it to finish my trip but other than that it’s a big W I would recommend it ... show more

  • I just bought this boat and am very pleased. It's built like a whitewater raft I just bought this boat and am very pleased. It's built like a whitewater raft
Color: Flare Performance Kayak (1P)
I was a river guide on a class 3 whitewater river in the Poconos for 5 years. This would have survived all five. I just bought this boat and am very pleased. It's built like a whitewater raft, this is going to last.i am 6foot4 and 300#. The box says weight limit is 319. I know this is going to act like a play boat under me and can't wait. Mine came with no foot rest. The seat is thick and strong. The bottom is rockered! The floor is one peice and about 4 inches thick. On each side there are 4 valves to open to make it a self bailer for rapids! This nose is and tail are almost basketball like, strong. Quality materials and construction, this thing is no joke, it's bad ass. I'm getting the 2 person one next! ... show more

  • Imperfections in material
Color: Scout Fishing Kayak (1-2P)
I'm very sad to write this. I was disappointed. I loved it at first. Size is perfect, looks great. Everything was great. Then I saw those like imperfections in materials, some people had same problems here in reviews. I was scared to keep it with those problems in material. That price should be hight with high quality. But it wasn't. But I will gladly say they refunded me all money. No problems. Maybe I just had bad piece. Idk. Also i saw problem with glued spots. It just started to get off. Otherwise I like it. ... show more
