  • Worked great
Color: Red/Black Size: 10
These glasses allowed us to have an eclipse party with the kids and grandkids and safely view the eclipse. They worked perfectly - I only wish we would have another opportunity to use them before the year 3046! The only issue with them was the littlest grandkids keeping them on their small faces. I used a rubber band to connect the temples behind their heads and that worked great. Maybe an optional feature that could be offered. ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: These were some of the cheaper ones. I liked the price. They worked great.

  • These work great, even if they're not the ones in the photo
I ordered a 5-pack for cheap on Amazon for the annular eclipse of May 20, 2012, and they worked great! However, as another reviewer noted, the photo is incorrect. The ones I received had a different design and colors on the frame (yellow is the predominant color) and the lenses are mirrored on both sides--they look like sheets of Mylar. When you put them on, you see a distorted reflection of your own eyes. You can't see anything else until you look at the sun (which appears white to my eyes), and the moon appears completely opaque as an eclipse takes place. The overall viewing quality exceeded my expectations and those of my fellow eclipse viewers. I was even able to use them in tandem with binoculars, which not only gave me a magnified view of the eclipse, but also allowed me to see a sunspot in the northeast quadrant of the sun. It was a little tricky to line up the binoculars while wearing the glasses at the same time, but I managed to do it several times. You can even wear these on top of regular sunglasses for a little extra protection. I'll definitely hang onto these until June 5, when Venus will transit across the sun in my area. If you plan on saving these glasses for the 2017 total eclipse in the U.S., be careful--the cardboard frame is very thin, as is the material that makes up the lens. Mine were shipped in a fairly rigid cardboard sleeve that should do the job nicely. ... show more

  • Safe Solar viewing
Color: Blue/Black Size: 25
These "glasses" conformed to all the right standards and worked well to observe the 2017 American Solar Eclipse. Of the 25 pairs of cardboard framed "glasses" only one had a small defect in the filter over one eye. I discarded that one, as per the directions written on each pair. The mylar filter seems quite delicate, and I took extra pains to make sure that I didn't accidentally scratch them while taking them out of the plastic pouch they were delivered in. The description on the web page left me with some doubt as to whether I would receive 25 pairs or 50 pairs. In the description headline it clearly says that it is a "package of 25." But, in the "Size" specification it says, "2 pack." I took this to mean "2 packages of 25." When the item arrived, there was just one package of 25. I assumed that someone just forgot to type the five making it "25 pack". But, it was confusing. ... show more

  • Great eclipse glasses -- tested and they worked!
Color: Blue/Black Size: 5
I used these for the October 2023 annular eclipse recently, and they worked great. I could easily see the eclipse and it protected my eyes great (I occasionally accidentally looked at the eclipse without them and the sun was BRIGHT). I stared at the eclipse for like 45 minutes with these glasses on and had no issues whatsoever. ... show more

  • Worked like a charm!
Color: Blue/Black Size: 10
I had no idea how these glasses worked. When the annular eclipse happened last week, we were careful not to look directly into the sun. The sun was shining so bright and didn't appear to be blocked out by the moon at all. After putting on the glasses and looking at the sun, sure enough, the moon was blocking part of the sun. Honestly, it was an amazing sight! This is the second eclipse we have witnessed and hope for another one. These glasses changed everything about the eclipse. They are keepers! ... show more

  • You will look into the heart of our star and LAUGH a hearty laugh!
Color: Blue/Black Size: 10
Six months after the eclipse and I am still not blind! I laugh at you SUN! BHAHAHAHAH! Pros: -Stare into the sun -prevents going blind while staring at the sun. -fits over eye glasses -fits just about anyone's head -Prevents stress as you can't see scary things going on around you -You get 20 of them! -also good for staring at light bulbs! -Will prevent eye contact with other people -great for listening to the radio -great for hiding your true identity -Did I mention I'm still not blind after staring into the heart of our star??!? Cons:(the following is presented for humor, I mean they only have one use.) -not very stylish -not peril sensitive so they never get any brighter. -can't walk in them without tripping or running into things -can't drive in them. Insurance company still refuses to pay up. -made out of card board so not very comfortable. -Doesn't work underwater -only notes one eclipse on the front -Dog barks at me when I wear them. -terrible for 3D movies -not able to play catch while wearing them. -difficult to sleep in -difficult to read in -Can't use them for welding as they seem to catch on fire. -My wife keeps telling me to take them off. -resale value seems to have fallen substantially after the eclipse for reasons I am unable to ascertain. -No zoom or focus available -Not HD or 4K. -People stare at me. (or so I am told) ... show more

  • Works over prescription glasses Works over prescription glasses
Color: Red/Black Size: 25
My wife and I wear glasses. We wore the Eclipse glasses over our prescription glasses. The tips of the temples of the Eclipse glasses barely went past my ear. However, I have perhaps a larger than average head circumference, and I wore them over my prescription glasses. My wife seemed to have a better fit. For one of my smaller children, I folded the cardboard earpiece down for a better fit. There are two "fold-guides" on each side where to fold the glasses, so that you get a good perpendicular fold. The glasses were undamaged, and the film worked well to block sunlight. I also used them to take a few pictures with a "basic" digital camera, just to have some candid pictures to call my very own. Here's a picture of the partial eclipse using the glasses, and one of the total eclipse without using the glasses (for resolution comparison). ... show more
