I had no idea how these glasses worked. When the annular eclipse happened last week, we were careful not to look directly into the sun. The sun was shining so bright and didn't appear to be blocked out by the moon at all. After putting on the glasses and looking at the sun, sure enough, the moon was blocking part of the sun. Obviously did the job, since no retina damage. However, you may want to take a step up and get the EclipSmart 2X Power Viewers for the extra magnification, which I'll be using for the April 2024 total eclipse.

Bought these to watch the eclipse the other day and for the one coming in April. They work really well. You can look at the sun directly with them at any time and there is no glare. Everything is pitch dark except the sun.

These glasses worked very well for the eclipse! We ordered them about a month in advance and got them a couple of weeks later. We were able to see the moon make its way in front of the sun without hurting our eyes. I have used these since the 2102 Venus transit and annular eclipse. They are the best you can get. Bought a bulk pak for the 2024 eclipse, can probably sell spares for a profit when the time comes!
