I've checked several glasses for IR 808 and 980nm. Among the 3 green pairs they are absolutely stunning. Other green glasses only slightly absorbed IR light being the darkest and cheapest (up to $20 a pair). All more expensive but pink glasses failed the IR test completely (I wonder why Amazon tolerates this scam - it's a medical safety issue!). I prefer to use this pair than the one that came with my 810nm laser, which are darker green and less comfortable than the described here item. For my head the LaserPair Fiber Laser Safety Glasses are slightly too large, but I can live with this. ... show more

We purchased 2 pairs of these and they both broke easily. They offered to replace the 1st one and I didn't even bother to open up the replacement package because prior to receiving it, the other pair broke. They are supposed to be safety goggles however if the frames break so easily makes you wonder if the lens actually protects. ... show more

While playing with a 30 watt 975nm fiber laser, you NEED eye protection. These goggles are effective at blocking the IR light. When placed over my IR sensitive camera, they can no longer see the focused beam, only the glow of the fire on the wood. 4 stars because they are not a great fit.
