I received a much better robe than I expected. There was a size recommendation which was just right for me. I use it mainly to transit between my outside hot tub and the house. It is ideal for this. Heavy enough to absorb the water when I'm leaving the hot tub, and plenty warm enough to avoid the usual 'chills' between 102º water and the outside air. There was a nice color selection as well. When I opened the package I was surprised at all the threads that were hanging from it. I clipped them all off and put the robe in the wash. The instructions say wash before wearing and that's because it has a horrible smell and is pretty stiff. After washing, there were more threads hanging from the robe and the seams were coming apart. It also looks as though they didn't hold it taut when they were pulling it through the sewing machine because there's a lot of pleats in the seams. I think the seamstress must have been her first day when she made this robe. As far as fit goes, I ordered an XXL figuring it would be a little too big for me. The shoulders were pretty big but there was not enough width in the robe and there was only about 3 in overlap when I tied the belt. Now, I'm not that big so I can only imagine what a true XXL would feel like with this robe. It's going back. ... show more

This is a very comfortable and warm robe. From reading some of the reviews I thought it would be too small even for XXL, but I find this one suits me great. For style and comfort it's a keeper. I had one like this before. I wore it out. I'm happy to do the same with this one.
