I usually wear a 7 1/2 and I had to size up to an eight. The 7 1/2 was just really tight on my foot. And if you're going to wear socks and them you do need to size up at least a half size. They're very comfortable very cute boots.

So I'll preface w/ I LOVE these boots -- they look just like the picture, they're sleek and they look good with almost everything in my closet. I knocked off a star b/c I did get a little pinky toe blister on one foot after wearing them the first time, and they feel slightly tight in the toe box, despite me having fairly narrow feet, and me buying my true size (7 -- sometimes I can wear 6.5 too but I bought 7 in these). Nevertheless, they feel like they fit right in length and width, so I wouldn't recommend sizing up. What I've found helps tremendously is wearing them with either wool or not-too-thick slipper socks (which are still MUCH thicker than regular socks) -- this not only helps with insulation, but it protects my skin so I don't get blisters and helps eliminate "free space" like in the heel of the shoe, so the grip is better and my feet and calves don't have to work as hard when I walk. I also put some thin Dr. Scholl's insoles in these to get better arch support, because they are flat, flat, flat. With the insoles and some wool socks, the fit is perfect -- comfortable, warm, and stylish. Overall these boots aren't perfect, but I can definitely work with them and think they were worth the price! Quick update: I took these to Europe when I went for two weeks recently, and I walked quite a bit in them. For the most part they were fine when walking 10+ miles each day, but after about 3 days in a row of walking this much wearing only these boots, I did get a blister again on my right pinky toe. I had to switch to tennis shoes after that, but I was able to wear the boots again a little bit by the end of the trip (not walking nearly as much though). Overall I am still happy with them though! I’ve been searching for knee highs that properly fit my wide calves and these worked amazing! The first wear took a little effort cuz of a fresh zipper and needing to let the boot stretch out a bit, but after the first 1 or 2 wears I have been able to throw these on and off in a breeze. I HIGHLY recommend trying these out if “wide calf” boots have only disappointed you. Also, they are comfortable to wear all day. And I live in MN and with the snow and ice I would say they have decent traction, which not all fashion boots do. ... show more
