This book and author gets 5 stars for a lot of reasons. If you want to know the ins and outs about marketing on social media, then this one is for you. It is written for a beginner who wants or need to learn about social media, homework and all. Reading this book, made me feel as if i was in a class. I am a crafter who wants to start marketing on social media. I have a Facebook Business Page and want to upgrade to attract more customers. My main interest in buying this book was for Facebook but love that it coves all of social media. Eventually, I will use other forms of social media.   • Good so far except…
I have just started reading the workbook and it seems to present some good information. My one complaint is that I bought the paper version so that I could write inside the “workbook”. There’s just one problem with doing that. None of the worksheets are in the book! You have to go to the author’s website over and over and print out what you need. Probably good for his SEO and collecting peoples emails, but not great if you, as the reader, are trying to work “unplugged” or if you want to keep everything in one place such as in the book itself.   • Quick, easy and fun way to start some buzz about our business again. The writer is responsive!
I had this book title in my Amazon shopping cart for months. It seemed pricey; I was not sure the investment would be worth it — or, honestly, if I'd even make time to read it with my busy schedule. However, circumstances motivated me to order it. Our 25 year steady flow of remodeling business customers trickled to a stop, ironically, in this apex of our economy. Or, maybe it was not so ironic. It was bound to happen. Our business has practically zero internet presence. Word of mouth worked great while it lasted. But maybe people are not talking with their mouths so much now. With this kind of pressure, we needed a book that would get us up and talking online — as quickly and painlessly as possible. I ordered it. When it arrived, I began consuming it quickly. Surprisingly, this tome turned out to be fun to read! The overarching metaphor is, after all, a big party! There are so many pauses for humorous relief in this book. Any reader will avoid feeling bogged down with technicality; the writer's empathy for his audience shines through. He is definitely a teacher at heart and asks for feedback and engagement over and over. The invitations to link up to worksheets and quizzes didn't work at first. However, the writer responded to my emails quickly and send me links that did work. I have my quizzes now! I have just stepped into a role in marketing for my company and was looking for a book to use as a guide while I start finding my way through social media. I have grown up with social media as a resource staple but still wasn't quite familiar in how to adjust my experience to match what I am expecting for my company's profile. This book is very well organized - things that I wouldn't have even considered have been included in the guide and every bit of advice and guidance is relevant to what I am trying to achieve.
