The media could not be loaded. I love this short embroidered dress from Alex Evenings! I might have kept the navy A-line or the navy cowl (different style, same listing) in size 16 as my mother of the bride dress. But I went with the rosette fabric instead (same design style as the A-line). I also tried dresses from this listing in blush A-line (size 16 petite and 18 regular) and dove (different style, same listing, size 16 reg). My measurements are 46-40-46, 5'3". Usually, Alex Evenings' size 16 petite fits me best, but 16 regular also fits. The "dove" style is about 2 inches tighter in the bust than other colors/styles in this listing. The "dove" dress is lined only in the bodice where the embroidery details are on a sheer fabric overlay. For the rest of the dove style dress, the fabric is gray with silver and purple embroidered details. In all the a-line styles, the color of the embroidery matches the background fabric. The embroidery is on a sheer overlay of the whole dress, and it goes a bit higher than the underlying fabric at the neckline for a flattering sheer effect. The layering also makes the dress very comfortable for wearing with my own bra. The navy cowl bodice is made of a stretchy chiffon-type fabric with stitched down pleats running horizontally and a loose cowl draped at the low-scooping neckline, front and back. The navy cowl's embroidery is a sheer overlay of only the bottom (skirt) of the dress, and it has flowers made from ribbons that give the skirt a lot of texture. Some customers might object to the unfinished look of the ribbons. The prices fluctuated in June and July 2023 between $84.14 and $175.12 for dove, $79.66 to 197.06 for blush, $131.37 to $197.06 for navy A-line, $142.09 to $199.00 for navy cowl. The mother of my daughter's fiance will be wearing this dress in cranberry (a-line) at the October wedding in Moab, UT.

Wore this to a wedding. It’s very flattering, good quality and comfortable. The dress is a little heavy however I stayed cool in 90 degree weather. Would buy again.

I ordered my usual size and a size larger just because I don't trust all sizing to be uniform. We the bigger size, which I never wear, was tight on me and the arm holes were huge! I like the dress and would have kept it had there been and little more give and normal arm holes. The quality and style was nice.

The proportions on this dress were so bizarre. The top was massive and the bottom kinda-sorta fit, but in the back the dress made a straight line from the waistline to the roundest portion of my rear-end, because it was not cut to accommodate any sort of curve. I can only assume this dress was made for women with large breasts and no backsides.

This is a lovely dress! The color is a nice, rich shade of medium blue--not royal, not navy. The lace is comfortable and soft. I'm 5'5" and 150 lbs; I normally wear 10s and 12s, ordered a size 12 and it fit perfectly. I do not like it when form-fitting dresses cup under the posterior, and this one did not. The chiffon (godet) pleats are a really nice touch for dancing. This was one of my mother-of-the-bride options. Although it was not the winner, I highly recommend it. With appropriate foundation, it gave me a long and lean look.

I was so surprised at how well made this dress is. I ordered it for a black tie wedding and it’s beautiful. I ordered a size up and I’m glad I did. The color is lovely and the embroidery is very well done. The only minor issue is there are puckered areas at the hips but with some steaming they are better. I tried on several other expensive dresses from top name department stores and this is better far the nicest and for $200.
