I live in the Northeast (Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania). Throughout February, we were hit with horrendous snow and ice so I ended up with about 3-4 inches of thick ice on my driveway and walkways, making it totally impossible to drive on or walk on without wearing spikes on my shoes. I ordered this ice chipper and it really worked well in chopping some of the ice away especially in areas where you need to walk. It's easy on the hands as the handle has a spring inside so it doesn't take that much effort to apply pressure and break up the ice and push it to the side. I'm 68 and not as strong as I used to be but this allowed me to break up a lot of the ice so as not to be a prisoner in my house due to the weather!

First it is light weight. I like that. Second, some people may not like this, bit I am short. It's size is comfortable for me at my 5 foot 2 in height. It is durable. I have had it since 2021 and it is still in great shape aside from where my dogs chewed the rubber of the handle. The blade is still in great shape with no putting and no rusting. I highly recommend

First one I've ever bought im so impressed. It's good handle length, strong ice breaking capability. So much better than just a shovel. I'm really glad I purchased it was surprised how well it works. Didn't chop all my ice but most of it, along with the salt I sprinkled on ice first. Keep in mind it's still below freezing here too. Recommend this chopper. Bought this couple years ago and only recently remembered I did lol. Dunno how compares to others as I've never bought one before.

Purchased last winter. Have used it numerous times. It’s easy to use, sturdy & does its job well. Not too heavy for my “older” body but heavy & sharp enough to get through the ice.

A friend of mine recommended this to me personally and I have to say, it’s been a Godsend when needed. Living in the east coast you never know what the weather will bring. I used this handy tool in an apartment complex that was responsible for their own shoveling and clearing of the drive and walk way. My car started skidding while pulling out of a parking spot. I pulled this out to break up the ice to allow my car to gain traction which was fast, quick and easy, and then back on the road I went. The quality of this is solid and sturdy. Folds up nicely and fit underneath the boards of my SUV.

This ice chopper is easy to use and the shock-absorbing handle makes the job more comfortable. It works great on thinner ice, breaking off large chunks with one swing. For thicker, solid ice, it's much harder to break through. However, there's one big downside — the blade seems to have a protective coating, but it wears off quickly from chopping ice. With melting snow and water exposure, the exposed metal starts to rust. Now I have yellow rust stains on my garage floor and front porch, which is really frustrating. It does the job, but the rust issue is something to consider.
