  • Awesome cover
I bought this about a year ago for my Taurus and am looking at them now for my pickup. These are great covers, and I am saying that after a years use where we average 144" of snow a year. The elastic is very high quality because it still works great and the wings that get closed in the door hold very well. There are no magnets or anything else to scratch a black car, because scratches would show! Just make sure you do your part and get it installed tight. UPDATE - New one purchased Jan of 2023. They have changed these and made them much cheaper. The original one I wrote the review about is still excellent, the new one has already been trashed. One of the very thin elastic strips that wrap around the mirror has broken and the coating on the inside of the cover stuck to the windshield and had to be scraped off. The original one is still working flawlessly, and the straps that wrap around the mirrors are very thick. Count me disappointed. ... show more

  • Easy to use
Very easy to use. Love being able to just take it off and my windshield is clean from snow.

  • Easy to use, works well
Got this cover for the windshield of my car, which is usually parked outdoors, on my driveway. The reviews suggested that this sheet prevents frost formation on the windshield, and that was one of my main points of pain in the winter, so I decided to try this sheet out. The sheet is very inexpensive, and seems to be well-made and sturdy. There are no instructions that come with the sheet, but it is mostly easy to figure out what to do. It takes a couple of tries to place it correctly so that the whole windshield as well as the wipers are well-protected. After that, it has now become as practiced as getting into the car and starting to drive. I use the sheet with the smooth side against the windshield. I don't know whether that is the correct way to use it. So far, I haven't found the sheet lacking, so either that must be OK, or it really doesn't matter which side is against the windshield. We have had a couple of weeks of below-freezing temperature during the winter now, and in every case, there was frost on the cover, but not on my windshield. I don't know why I did not find this product sooner, given that I have lived where I have for 25 years now, and fought with windshield ice every winter all along! This cover is worth its weight in gold for not only the frustration it saves me, but also due to the fact that I can start driving as soon as I step out for the day instead of building an additional 5 to 10 minutes in my schedule for frost removal. I store the cover in my trunk once I remove it from the windshield. It would be good if it came with a waterproof bag because I have found that sometimes, there is a lot of snow and frost on the cover, and it is impossible to get it all off before I put it in the trunk, so the floor of the trunk gets wet when all this stuff melts off the cover. Otherwise, there have been no other problems. One more thing to look out for is the "ears" that go into the passenger compartment (and the door is closed over them to secure the cover in place in addition to the loops that go over the outside mirrors). Once or twice, I pull the ears down tight and closed the doors over not only the ear, but also parts of the thick seam that attaches the ear to the main part of the cover. This has caused small amounts of water to leak into the passenger compartment because the door seals are forced open a little wider because of the seams. So, even if it will result in a little bunching of the cover outside the car, don't pull anything other than the ear into the passenger compartment. If there was a small set of instructions with the cover explaining this (and definitively answering the question of which side of the cover goes against the windshield), I would have given it 5 stars. ... show more

  • Why didn't I buy this sooner
It does a great job keeping the frost off the windshield. It's thick enough despite some of these reviews. I'm using it on a 2017 Dodge Caravan. The length and width are perfect. But I'm going to have my wife sew in a 6 inch elastic band to one side of the elastic so it will go around the mirrors. For now I just improvise with a bungie. Worth its weight in gold. Also fits a full size '17 Ram 3500. It dries out nicely during the day in the van...ready to go back on for the next day. ... show more

  • I love this product
This product is amazing. It makes winters so much easier. The only thing is the part that goes against your windshield started to stick to my windshield and even the vehicle itself. I would have little black plastic pieces all over. This is the second one I purchased.

  • 2 = needs improvement…or more accurate listing info
I purchased this shield specifically because a) it specifically advertised that it fits mid-sized trucks, and b) the reviews are overwhelmingly positive. While it took much longer than expected (based on Prime membership and expectation of expedience, not on stated delivery details) to arrive, I happily received it yesterday. It snowed last night, so I could assess its performance. It’s primary purpose - to keep snow/ice/frost from windshield - is good. It functions as I expected. It was easy enough to pull the cover back and the snow came with it. More importantly, I didn’t have to scrape the windows or wait for the windshield to defrost. However, installing the windshield cover in order that it could serve its primary purpose took some effort. I purchased this for a 2006 Honda Ridgeline, which is a mid-size pickup. Amazon indicated this would work with my vehicle, as did the literature posted when I purchased it. The cover itself fits the windshield of this vehicle, but securing the cover using the elastic straps was a challenge. I folded in the second side view mirror and still needed to finger-push the tight-fitting strap over the mirror housing (I also heard a seam pop). Later, I spent about 90 seconds attempting to remove it before deciding to just cut the strap (I’m not sure I could have gotten it off without cutting even had I spent more time) and coming up with another solution. My other solution required tapping into my domestic skills, which are minimal. I hand-sewed another length of elastic to the existing one, and sewed the new length back to the shield cover. I’ll likely need to do the same thing to the other side, as the fit was still more snug than I like, it it will do for now. So, if you’re looking to cover a mid-size truck, this shield WILL cover the windshield. However, you’ll probably need to be resourceful if using the elastic to secure to your mirrors. ... show more
