I've had this amp now for the better part of 2 weeks. I've listened to it for 25ish hours. This unit is incredible. The sound is somehow both revealing and smooth. It is powering a pair of 91db sensitivity, 8ohm, tower speakers in my living room. The sound really opened up after about 10hrs of use. The more I listen to it the more I like it. I initially got this to power a second system, but now I think I'll getting a second one to use them in mono block mode on my main system. I can not recommend this amp highly enough. If i have one criticism of the unit is that there is no trigger or standby mode. It doesn't run hot but I would like it to power down if it wasn't in use. It doesn't get too hot, so maybe it isn't a problem, but I'm used to class d amps powering down into standby mode, as they generally get pretty hot. I would give this 4.75 stars if I could. ... show more

I’m currently using the SMSL PA with a 15-year-old pair of NHT Classic Three speakers, a cheap FiiO BRT13, and my PC as a source. Compared to my other amps—the Fosi ZA3 (Class D) and Emotiva TA-100 (Class A/B)—the SMSL PA200 is in a different league. While the Fosi and Emotiva both sound very good in their own ways, the SMSL simply outperforms them. It delivers a warm, engaging sound with a noticeably wider and more open soundstage. The imaging is decent (need to improve my DAC? Or streaming sources?) and I’m hearing details I did not notice before, especially in the mid and lower bass. For the money, this amp is a great value — I honestly can’t complain about the results! Oh, keep this in mind, SMSL PA200 is almost 3 times price to Fosi ZA3. And Emotiva ta100 is an integrated system, with a lot more functionalities. ... show more

Runs very hot... even signal not on, I am not sure if mine was faulty or this is normal for this amp. Produces a decent flat soundstage, high ends nicely rolled so I did not find any fatigue on listening, musically could offer a bit more

It's ok amplifier. Power delivery is good for my polk r 200s . They want lot of power . This amplifier drives them very easily with half of its power for 80 db at 12 feet listening distance. It's does not give much good sound stage even with my fiio r2r dac.This is absolutely not a Hifi amplifier.it needs some claas a pre amp like schiit saga2 or tube preamp for hifi kick to get the sound stage.
