I have a number of Smith sunglasses I use for cycling, these Ruckus sunglasses are a welcome addition. I bought the Matt black frames with the very dark platinum mirror lens, only 12% visible light transmission (VLT). These are perfect for bright summer days, and the larger lens provides excellent coverage. A thin plastic reinforcement runs across the top of the lens, with a slot underneath for ventilation. Although the lens provides more coverage than my older Attack and Pivlock lenses, the width is the same, for a medium overall fit. The platinum lens is great. I’m not sure what the ChromaPop technology does, but everything is crisp and clear, and the grey based lens doesn’t add any weird artificial color tones to the view. The updated Pivlock mechanism works well, as Smith added a reinforcement to the corners of the lens. The original Pivlock simply had a hole drilled in the lens, which was a lot more fragile and fiddly. If you’re not sure which lens to order, I’d recommend the black or platinum, both 12% VLT grey based lenses, or the photochromic, which goes from 20% VLT to completely clear, perfect for those cloudy days, or any low light situation. Finally, I got mine on an Amazon Warehouse deal, 85% off the regular price. At first I was very skeptical about fit and performance I tried them the fit was awesome they didn’t moved around never fog on the 80 mile ride with rain never got water in my eyes I was able to ride very safe and see the debris on the road .

Let me be clear... I've worn Smith Sunglasses for decades and they are amazing!!! These are no exception. The fit is great and the coverage and lenses are top quality. However the seller and/or Amazon has the description wrong. It clearly states that the matte black/gray comes with "Extra ChromaPop Contrast Rose Flash lens" and it does not. The extra lenses were clear. This is not a deal breaker for me and I will be keeping them as they were a pretty good deal. Just wanted to let everyone know that before purchasing. ... show more

I use these for cycling. Great field of vision and optics, very lightweight and they stay put. I feel like I'm not even wearing them. I absolutely love them. These sunglasses will not fit my face. Whether running or cycling, they keep sliding down my nose. I contacted Smith and they said, “We are sorry they don’t fit, have a nice day”
