Spills on this tablecover wipe up easily. I do not understand exactly what it is made of. One description says linen, other says burlap. It may be some sort of linen-like material with a coating to make it resist spills, or it could be some woven synthetic substance, such as a polyester--it doesn't matter to me. It is called champagne in color. I think it is a little dark, but it is still attractive. It has a sort of woven cloth look. Due to the nature of the substance from which it is made, it is sort of "air-proof" and puffs up when you put it on the table. So, you have to sort of pat it down to stay flat at first. It is thin, but not see-through. It says it is reversable, but I believe having the coating on the top is best. I suppose if you flipped it over, the water barrier would resist spills after going through the first layer. But I think it looks better with the coating on top. It has a bit of a tendency to slide due to the nature of the substance from which it is made. But that can be overcome with care. I am using it on our kitchen table--for everyday use. I happened to have some plastic woven placements that matched perfectly. I like the water and stain resistant qualities. It's easy to wipe up spills that always seem to occur. Also, we read newspapers at the table and the ink can smear on tablecloths. On this table cover, everything just wipes off. I ordered the smallest size, the 52"x70" and it fit this small table with plenty of overhang. For me, it's a good value for a casual, everyday setting. However, it could be dressed up and used for a more formal setting also. I call it a table cover since I'm not certain if it contains cloth. It may, but I couldn't say that with certainty. Like just about everything shipped these days, this came with wrinkles from the package. I just put it on the table and am waiting for the wrinkles to fade. ... show more

This is a nice tablecloth. However, I am not really fond of the shininess of it. It doesn't look like "linen". It's a little dark and shiny. I prefer the back side, but then the edging still has the shiny showing. It does the job though. It is made well, and I have washed it in the washing machine. A good buy for a waterproof tablecloth. The color of this tablecloth is exactly what I was expecting, linen is a light champagne-beige color. The fabric itself is unusual, in that it is quite thin. The top is definitely coated to give it the waterproof/wipeable quality, and that coating gives it a sheen that makes it look more like a vinyl cloth. The material is woven but it is not what I would consider burlap. It slides around on my table quite a bit, but it I lay it on upside down the coated side seems to hold in place better. The seams are finished well so it doesn't look bad to flip it, however then it will lose it's wipeability. That might be what I do if I'm having guests, though, because I'd rather it stay in place. When I first received it, I tumbled it in the dryer on a de-wrinkle cycle. This caused most of the creases to fall out, leaving only the center line. Hopefully, in time that one will release as well. ... show more

So this is a pretty table cloth, but it is not linen. It’s plastic. I thought I was getting a steal, but, it’s just another cheap fake tablecloth. Again, it is very nice looking, but I’m a little disappointed that it’s not linen and they falsely advertised it.

I'm not really sure how to describe this tablecloth! It doesn't quite feel like fabric...it doesn't quite feel like vinyl...something in between! I like that it can be wiped clean since I feel like I'm having to constantly machine wash my other table cloth and the color is really nice. What I don't love is that it has a little bit of a sheen to it. I also have a lot of creases due to the packaging of the product. I'm not quite sure how to remove those as I do feel it would melt under an iron. It does say that it's machine washable so if the creases don't fall out in the next few days, I might try washing it on gentle in the machine and hanging dry to see if these creases will fall out. ... show more

Before ordering, I read carefully the description, seeing if it is what I thought/hoped it would be. My reasoning is that I have only one table in my kitchen. And, it multi-functions also for prep-work. Therefore, I do not want a polyester table cloth that doesn't stain, but allows fluids access to the wood table underneath. I need a wax or vinyl table cloth. While I can't find a tag on this cloth to determine what the fabric is, one touch tells me that it has some sort of a wax coating on it. That makes it a waterproof, solid surface. And, that's what I wanted. Note: It will come with fold-creases. It will take a while, but they will come out of their own accord. After that, we don't fold as tightly as their machines do. Therefore, there should not be new creases made. (That's just how wax or vinyl fabric is.) ... show more

I had ordered placemats a couple months ago, which where a similar linen/burlap type fabric which was wipeable, I was hoping that this tablecloth would match. Basically, it does match color wise but it has a shine too it that I just don't really care for. makes it look plasticky but, it is definitely not plastic. I definitely will be using this for the next large family dinner but, totally do not like the shiny finish. The photos I provided show my Placemats to the Left & the Shiny Tablecloth on the Right to show the difference. ... show more
