    • Best Suction Cup Mount for your GoPro!
The Smatree Double Suction Cup Mount is a double cup suction cup mount with a ball head. It includes a tripod mount and thumbscrew. The Suction Cup Mount works with all GoPros in The Frame or any housing. The suction on this mount is best I’ve seen on any mount. Two levers create and releases suction, making it easy to stick on a surface or remove it. The rubber suction cup also has a pull-tab for those surfaces where there is still suction after releasing the lever. I was able to attach it my windshield, hood of my car, fridge, patio door, kitchen table and laptop. when attached to my laptop I was able to pick up the laptop with the mount. While I am confident of the suction when mounted on the exterior of a vehicle, I would highly recommend using a tether in any scenario where the GoPro could fall off. SmaTree recommends using the mount in-car only, but I tested the mount extensively on the hood of my car at highway speeds. I kept the mount on the hood of car and drove around for a week. The mount only came off when I took it off. Once attached, the Double Suction Cup Mount is further adjustable by the ball head. Simply screw the collar, adjust and tighten to lock. The base can be adjusted forwards and backwards. Once adjusted, the mount does not move. With any fixed mount, you will get vibration if the surface that the mount is attached to moves. I've found that vibrations are minimal the Double Suction Cup mount. Any vibrations were easily removed in post via image stabilization. It also comes with a plastic thumbscrew rather than aluminum one. SmaTree should include aluminum thumbscrews with all of their GoPro accessories. The Double Suction Cup Mount has amazing suction, enough to hold the GoPro on the exterior of a car and is a fraction of the price of the GoPro Suction Cup mount. It is the best suction cup mount and will work well for someone who wants to mount their GoPro to smooth surfaces such as windshields on car exteriors.     • BUY IT. I'm beyond impressed and feel I got to give credit!
I've long wanted one of these for a project I've had in mind. Mentally, it's really tough to attach a camera worth several hundred dollars to the side of a fast moving vehicle... with a $13 set of suction cups. But I've also never felt like chipping out a hundred dollars for one of these "top tier" setups because it also seems like it should be a pretty cheap item. Anyways, I finally bit the bullet and bought this, the cheapest one, which also manages to have (in my opinion) one of the more well-thought-out designs in terms of the engineering of the articulating joints. It arrived today and I could help but putting it through a couple impromptu trials - attaching it to porcelain, smooth vinyl, glass (obviously), even a glossed wood surface. I'm impressed. The thing is strong as hell and feels really solid! Would I put my DSLR on it? Eh.. not in a dangerous scenario, but it can hold it no doubt. I'll still run the gopro with a safety cable as a failsafe. But I am so glad I didn't spend 7x more for something that would essentially be doing the exact same job with the exact same effectiveness. ... show more

Purchased for a Jeep Jamboree off road event. This mount stayed stuck on the outside of my Jeep through all the obstacles. Even got smacked with branches and didn't move. Can't wait to use it on other vehicles!

    • Strong and versatile GoPro suction mount
I was looking for a new GoPro mount so I could attach my camera to my car for some shots in an upcoming trip. The current suction cup mount I have is a generic, single suction cup mount that may or may not choose to stay put, depending on the day. I decided it was time for something new that I could trust. Enter the Smatree double suction cup mount. The first thing I noticed (and was pleasantly surprised with) is how compact this mount is when the top neck is folded down. I assumed that the height would be something I'd have to work around, but it really does fold in to a small form factor without sacrificing function. It's made of high grade plastic, and I was impressed with the build quality. The pictures really don't do this product justice, it is much nicer in person. The suction cups grab on and don't let go! I stuck it to the outside of my truck and drove around for two days in 90+ degree weather without any issues. The levers to release the suction cups work well and it releases quickly when you're ready to pull it off. The only negative thing I experienced was some difficulty sticking it to my windshield. It may have been user error, but I found that it didn't like surfaces with curves; both of the cups really need to be seated flat on the surface for it to work correctly. it's great. it is what it is on the picture. having said that, here are some cons 1. pieces just falls off when you're not using it. for instance, I took my camera out while driving, leaving the mount on my windshield. 1/4 mount plate came lose after driving for couple of hours. 2. it's hard to take it off from the windshield. not because it has superior suction power or im being too weak to pull it. but you would have to pull both cups at the same time and that is very tricky thing to do. so for that, it is poorly designed. 3. suction cup is not as big as other competitors and suction power is just enough to hold gopro sized cameras. nothing bigger than that. conclusion. It does what it says it does and that should be the only criteria to assess the product. but since there are a lot of similar products out there, I must take that into account as well. There are other suction cup that does far more than this little guy does. And it does it better. This dual cup version is not a bad product. I believe that it's quite good. but there are better product in amazon that are less expensive and gives you so much more. I suggest you buy that instead. ... show more
