  • Smashbox Lit Stx Blushlighter | 2-in-1 Creamy Highlighter Stick (Sunset)
Color: 02 Sunset.jpg (Peachy Pink)
This smashbox 2-in-1 blush/lip color is GREAT. The formulation feels great on my cheeks and on my lips and Sunset is a lovely shade that complements my fair skin very well. There is just a hint of color added when applied to my natural lip, which is what I prefer. As for use on the cheek, the color does require a couple of layers to develop some opacity and blends out to a nice sheer pinky tone. I think the formulation being made with 2 purposes in mind are cause for the sheerness without layering it on the cheek, but I don't mind. Either the color or product in general (I can only speak for my experience with this color) seems to be intended for a more natural looking makeup application, which I appreciate. Flashy and bold is great, but it's also nice to have something more natural to pull from on occasion. Unlike other similar sticks I have tried in the past that have a flat top, this stick is curved, presumably to allow it to be applied directly to the lip as well as to the cheek. The size of the tube does make it a bit clunky to apply directly to the lip (I prefer to use my finger to pick up color from the stick and apply it to my lip that way, but to each their own) but is still relatively easy to apply. As far as the stick itself goes, the design is fairly simple with the only way to see the color being a sticker on the bottom or opening the tube. The cap isn't flush with the body of the tube and fits more like eye pencils that you sharpen with their clear plastic caps. The twist feature on the tube is very smooth and can be retracted once fully extended. The stick itself has about 3/4 of an inch of product. If used for both lips and cheeks AND the fact you have to layer it up a bit on the cheek to get a fair bit of color, I think this product would be used up a bit faster than average, but overall, it's a beautiful color that is easy to apply and has a fair bit of product, so I still consider it a solid value for a premium beauty brand. ... show more

  • Better for cheeks than lips
Color: 02 Sunset.jpg (Peachy Pink)
Smashbox STX Blushlighter in LIT version is creamy with blendable texture, high pigment, and dewy finish. It works for me as a multi-use blush and highlighter for cheeks and lips; athough I did find the stick application required getting used to. Once applied, it lasted a long time. And is and suitable for various skin tones. I am able to choose from vibrant color that melt into the skin providing a fresh, radiant look that is great for layering. Pros: • Formula: Creamy, cushiony, lightweight, and blends easily, even over makeup. • Pigment: Highly pigmented, offering vibrant color payoff. • Finish: Dewy, skin-like, radiant, and fresh. • Versatility: Can be used on cheeks and lips and allows for creating sun-kissed and ombré looks. • Longevity: Long lasting - all day. • Application: Blends out beautifully, from sheer to intense and works on different skin tones. Callouts to Consider: • Application: Easy to blend, but there is a learning curve taking some time to get proficient at applying. • Portability: Container is larger than average lip balm, so Ihad to find anotherway to carry it (don'tlike bulgesin pickets). Overall: This represents a fair value for me due to its versatility. ... show more

  • Beautiful multipurpose stick
Color: 01 Flash Mauve (Cool-Toned Rose)
Smashbox always makes great makeup products and this Lit Stx Blushlighter is another great one. I got “flash mauve,” a cool-toned rose. It is lovely as a combination blush/highlighter. It’s a chubby stick that goes on easily and blends on well with fingers. It spreads on smooth and you can take it from sheer to deep depending on how many layers you put on. It may look pretty dark in the tube but one pass actually is not bad at all, especially after sheering it out. The picture of the highlighter on my hand is one pass, not sheered out, so you can see the color. It’s really flattering on cool-toned complexions. I do like that this does not have a strong scent, so it can be used on lips as well (I don’t personally like lip products with a strong scent to them). This is creamy in texture, goes on smooth, and is lightly shimmery and dewy without making you look like a disco ball. Lovely and well worth the cost. ... show more

  • An odd mix of contour and highlighter
Color: 04 Brnz.gif (Warm Bronze)
I am a bit mixed on this. The price is a bit high for what it is and the lack of color option. I didn't love the color in person. It was a bit dark and orange-hued. It worked decent for contouring but probably won't be reaching for it on the regular. It blends pretty well but I think it is a weird mix of color and shimmer. I prefer highlighting items to be lighter in color. It felt like it was hard to figure out how to properly use this. It did not work on the lips either. If more colors became available and their was a few in matte, I might change my mind. ... show more

  • CREAMY FORMULA, LOVELY BUILDABLE COLOR, BUT MINIMAL HIGHLIGHTING
Color: 02 Sunset.jpg (Peachy Pink)
I prefer cream over powder blush and was happy to try Smashbox’s new stick blush, and I like it. The shade Sunset isn’t a coral hue that the name implies; it's a lovely peachy-pink that’s just right for my fair skin tone. The formula is very creamy, and it has no fragrance. I used to apply cream blushes using a damp sponge; however, more often than not, the result was way too intense for my skin tone. After switching to a brush, the result is a subtle hint of color that I prefer. This creamy stick glides on easily and blends out well with a brush. And, as the color is buildable, it’s easy to go from a hint of color to a full glam application. This blush is marketed as a combination blush/highlighter stick that glows in every light. But, honestly, it doesn't deliver an obvious highlighter effect; instead, it leaves a soft, subtle sheen, which I prefer. I also tried it as a lip color, and it is pretty; however, it isn't long-lasting. ... show more
