I own about half a dozen of these shirts and they're easily some of my favorite wardrobe items. They're made from high quality merino wool that holds its shape doesn't pill-up after a few washes like some sweaters. The cut is fitted but not too tight, so it looks as good on a hike in the wilderness as in a smart-casual restaurant or bar. They're perfect for travel as they're light-weight and wrinkle-free. The material is breathable so it works equally well in warm or cold climates and is naturally odor resistant and quick drying. I highly recommend!

This baselayer top is awesome, is very warm, and comfortable to wear all day. It's long so it easily tucks in and stays that way. Or, if you don't tuck it in, the long waist hugs your hips and keeps the wind from blowing up into your open coat. This keeps you very warm, but is breathable enough to wear in the house all day. Wearing this in the house allows me to keep my heat much lower saving me $$$ on my utility bill. So while this is expensive, it has lasted and is great quality. I bought a 2nd one because I wear mine so often now I hate being without when I have to wash the one. Btw, I wear this over a cotton shirt, which allows me to wear it multiple days without needing to wash it more frequently. I think this too will make the life be extended. Definitely recommend. It's worth the cost. Also, the price on this in Oct 2021 was $20 cheaper than the 2nd one I bought in January. Not sure if that's a result of the inflation we're seeing now or because it's "in season" and naturally higher cost. I'm going to keep an eye on them and see if the cost drops in July when they are less likely to be selling.

I tried this on when I received it and the fit is perfect (Medium, I'm 5'8", 165lbs). I then washed it (gentle cycle, warm water) and laid it out to dry. Tried it on again, no shrinkage, same fit. It's 250 weight and doesn't feel thick or heavy. Very satisfied. Should be great fly fishing in Alaska this April.

I really love the Smartwool Merino Baselayer Crew. I've worn Smartwool socks for years and wanted to stay warm on my winter rides. This seemed like a natural choice given my decade-plus experience with the brand. I'm 6'2" and 195lbs, and the large fit me perfectly. Sleeve length is longer than expected, maybe 36/37, which is great for my long arms. I have only one criticism, and it is the price: if money is no object, go for it! I also bought the Meriwool brand in both medium and light weights; at half the price these are extremely comfortable as well.
