I got this for my son who has had the Garmin Jr for years. Since he is older now (12) and has shown he can take care of things I figured this would be great rather than spending money on something like an Apple Watch. Overall, the watch isn't bad and has a lot of functions (very similar to name brand smart watches) but my biggest complaint (and his) is that it doesn't show/track the heart rate without entering the "Heart rate" watch screen. It's not a big deal, but definitely annoying. Overall though, it is a good watch for pre-teens to see how they take care of it before making a larger investment on something name brand. ... show more

This very basic smartwatch has a lot of features for the price. As an adult male, who has had an expensive, brand name, smartwatch that died within a year, I find this very usable. I wear it 24 hours a day and I get 3-4 days of battery life. I find the alerts and messages most useful, even moreso than the time. You can make and receive calls on it but that's not its strong suit. It connected up easily, and stays connected to my phone surprisingly well. I will say I question the accuracy of its calculations. My step count and heart rate have never been higher. It feels like they're off by about 20%. Since this watch is marketed towards kids it's a great choice. The 14-year-old is really enjoying this watch. Because she has a phone, the Bluetooth allows her to do everything she needs the watch to do. The battery life is great; it lasts about 3 days before needing an overnight recharge. The app was easy to download and set up. In particular, she enjoys monitoring her sleep and recording her fitness goals (closing her fitness rings). It replicates most of the iOS-specific Apps from her phone like the timer, stopwatch, iHealth, Apple Music, etc. You can play sound from the watch but it's not great (what would you expect from a watch speaker). She loved that it could display her own pictures as the watch face. For the most part, she's been able to figure out all the tech herself, so I'd say it's pretty intuitive to use. For this situation, (already has a phone) it's a great add-on for a young teen. It does what she needs it to and more! ... show more
