Great grab and go case for the FujiFilm X Half! It is just the right size for what is otherwise a pocket camera, and I really like the added internal pocket for a credit card or ID (okay, and a nit - would have been a bit nicer if it had space for basically ID and two or three credit cards, but that's me). The overall design is spot on for SmallRig, and delivers on that retro vibe that works great with the X Half. Quality is in everything you feel, and I like how easy it is to pull the camera out and start using even with the shoe on. I attached the straps to the case, would not recommend attaching directly to the camera, but the right gear included if you want to do that. For a fun camera, and a 'grab and go" feel, I recommend this case.

The FujiFilm X half is a small camera but that doesn't mean it shouldn't have some great accessories. This X half case might seem a bit bulky at first but it hides some great features. First of all, it comes with a half-case that has an aluminum base that protects the bottom of the camera. It has an opening for the battery and SD card compartment which is great. It does cover the speaker holes on the bottom, so be aware of that it you use your camera back to show video. The sound might be a bit muffled. The mics are on top of the camera, so that's not affected. Then the whole thing slips into vertical every-read type case that is quite sturdy with some nice features. There is a magnetic closure to the case flap, so that the camera is never exposed and flapping around. Then there is a slim pocket inside to store a lens cloth but I found it also holds the SmallRig VND filter as well. And that is the best thing about how this case is designed. It is designed to hold the camera with all the SmallRig accessories attached: like the thumb grip, bottom grip with ARCA plate and even with the filters attached (UV and VND). Once you own this case you will be pleased and pleasantly surprised by all the little touches that were designed into it. For me, I am using the separate grip with thumb grip and UV filter and VND all designed by SmallRig. It really adds a lot to the pleasure of owning this camera.

Real review here from someone who purchased the item: Agree with other real commenters that Small Rig missed the mark on this one. First hard stop: the shoulder strap needs to be much longer - preferably adjustable and about 14-16” inches longer. It looks comical on me as a cross-body - it’s nearly at my armpits. I needed to add a 16” Modl gear tie to make it suit my needs. Also I agree with others that the magnet on the closure needs to be much much stronger. It feels like it’s barely closing shut every time. Two small little weak magnets on each corner. Lastly they should state “partial leather” as the sides and back of the case are a suede material that picks up lint and dust quite easily, unfortunately. I would’ve opted for no protective case attachment provided in exchange of a more robust leather case, overall. Considering I already have the other items from SmallRig on my case for ergonomics (thumb grip attachment and L-shaped grip) that I love - it seems they missed the mark on this case that could have complimented these other attachments better instead of being redundant. Also wish they didn’t exaggerate the lens cut out because it becomes obvious that I’m carrying a camera and can become a target for theft. 3.5 stars. Some pros but lots of cons. Still on the fence on if I will end up keeping it or returning it.

I can't imagine a better case for my FujiFilm Xhalf. I love the leather and suede appearance and the brown color makes it look and feel extra classy. I don't use the half leather case around the bottom because I do like the feel of the camera itself, but I like that the half case fits around the add-on grip if you should choose to have it on your camera. The full case is roomy enough so that it can fit the camera in it with all the add ons, including the thumb grip and the side grip. It has a nice fold-over cover for the lens, but the magnetic hold could be stronger to keep the cover on. I've found the lens cover to slip a few times in my bag. The shoulder strap is just the right length, and it's worth the slightly higher price to keep the camera safe.
