I've been using these SMallRig batteries for a month or so, and they've been good. I use them in my Nikon Z8 and they can handle recording long sessions of video at 4k with no issue. The battery life seems really good with these compared to the OEM one I use. Nikon's don't seem to care about third party batteries like Canon does. They also haven't randomly died on my like other aftermarket batteries I've used. The charger works great too, it's nice to be able to charge 3 at a time, even on the go in my car. Definitely work buying this versus 1 OEM battery.

The SmallRig EN-EL15c Camera Battery Kit is a fantastic addition for anyone using a compatible Nikon body. My Nikon D500 can really go through power, especially during long tours or occasions with high-volume shooting and video. Having three extra batteries plus a dedicated charger is a complete no-brainer for peace of mind. The charger is excellent because it handles all three batteries simultaneously and offers flexibility with both USB-C and Micro-USB ports. While the battery longevity hasn't been spectacular compared to OEM—working exactly as predicted with no major surprises—the reliability is there. SmallRig is a well-established vendor known for innovative and durable camera accessories. At its current price of $39.95, it’s a bit on the high side, but if you track the history, you’ll see it frequently drops under $30. It’s a great deal regardless, but especially worth it if you can catch it on sale.

I’m using these with my Nikon D850 which makes very efficient use of its batteries. However, when I’m on a big shoot, or traveling, extra batteries and a method to charge them is a necessity. I’ve not used batteries from SMALLRIG prior to this. I’m impressed, especially at this price point. The batteries fit well, have good capacity, and I really appreciate having a 3 battery charging device that can run off the USB port in my van. Since this is a new purchase I can’t attest to the longevity of the batteries but, so far, I’m pleased. If issues arise I’ll update this review. Full Disclosure: I acquired this as a Vine user. Picked up this kit for my Nikon Z5II and I'm quite happy with it. The best part is the charger itself; having the capacity to charge three batteries at once is super convenient, especially on trips and long shooting days. It does take a little longer to fully charge than other chargers I've had (the product description has 5 hours) but that's totally understandable since it's charging three simultaneously. The LED screen is bright and easy to read, which is a big plus. My biggest concern with third party gear is compatibility. I've heard people say some non-OEM batteries don't display percentages on their camera, but no issues here. The battery level shows up just like my Nikon batteries. The battery life doesn't appear to be as long as my Nikon brand, which is the only downside I've seen from this kit. For reference, I shot 221 images over two days, with the display on (but touchscreen off), over roughly 4 hours and I used 76% of the battery. That seems higher than usual for my typical usage, but one day was shooting sports in AF-C mode, so that could've drained the battery quickly. On sale now for $42, I'd say it's a great value due the 3-slot charger.

Fantastic quality as always from SmallRig! I actually thought this was only a battery charger for three batteries as my sports shoots often take all day and I go through batteries like crazy with my setup and charging one battery at a time is cumbersome at best, and if I lose track of what needs to be charged, that could leave me hurting during a shoot! This three battery charger came with three batteries also which was a nice surprise since I would have been happy just having the three position charger! SmallRig has a fantastic reputation and has excellent quality control for everything I have ever purchased from them, including camera rigs and microphones. My small request would have been to include a USB-C charging port directly on the battery themselves like some of their other batteries in case you need to field charge in a pinch. But with three batteries, field charging is less likely needed, but the footprint of the charger is small and uses USB-C to charge so it's not even a slight inconvenience compared to the monstrosity that is the Nikon EN-EL15 battery charger. Supremely highly recommended for anyone needing multiple batteries and a slim charging system. The power monitor is nice to see so I don't have to wonder if a certain battery is charged. Don't wait, this is a fantastic price for Nikon Z full frame batteries and charger, just buy it!

This battery kit looks really nice and feels well made. The charger is a great idea since it has multiple slots and an LCD display, and the batteries seem like good quality. Unfortunately, I ordered this thinking it would work with my camera, but it does not. That was my mistake, because the listing clearly states which Nikon models it is compatible with. If you have one of the supported Nikon cameras, this seems like a great battery bundle, but make sure to double check compatibility before ordering.

I already had enough batteries and chargers for my Nikon D7500, but SmallRig has built enough of a reputation with me that when I saw this kit I picked it up anyway. That says something about brand trust. Third-party camera batteries are a mixed bag. Some hold up well and some quietly disappoint over time, and I have cycled out plenty of the latter. So far these have performed on par with OEM batteries, which is the benchmark that matters. No warning messages on the camera display, accurate battery level readings, and consistent performance through regular use. The triple-slot charger is the real star of the kit. Charging three batteries simultaneously is genuinely convenient for anyone who shoots enough to run through batteries regularly. The LCD display showing charge status and remaining power at a glance is a thoughtful touch that removes any guesswork. The EN-EL15c battery also tends to have good staying power between charges, so three fully loaded spares means you can go a long time before the charger even becomes relevant again. If you shoot Nikon and want a reliable third-party battery kit from a manufacturer that takes build quality seriously, SmallRig is a safe bet. This kit reinforced that impression.
