F-U, chipmunks. I love most animals and nature, but chipmunks can literally go F themselves because they cause more problems than any other creature coming out of the woods behind my house. I just had a new patio put in and didn't want them getting under all that costly material and work, potentially ruining the brand new patio over time. So I buried these fences as deep in the ground as I could along the borders where those f-ers love to dig. However, I had to double them up (as planned) in staggered layers to make the gaps tighter. They're already expensive for what they are, so I wish they made a version with twice the vertical bars for this purpose. Otherwise the gaps are too wide as is to prevent A-hole chipmunks from doing their thing. Aside from that wish, these seem pretty strong and of good quality material/craftsmanship. ... show more

I ordered two boxes of 15 so far, with three more on the way. They cut to size easily with a jig saw and a metal blade, however once cut the weld closest to the cut failed often. Out of 30 pieces, I completely lost 4 that could not handle the force of pounding required to get them down into the ground all the way due to hard clay and vines deep in the ground. Four others separated due to pounding at the top rails. These are effective to stop digging, however I would like to see a larger top section for fastening to the fence. These are still a good option for reinforcing a bottom fence line due to how deep the rods go into the ground. The price point is ridiculous, but I needed a solution. I did use a mallet and when I could I placed a 2x4 across the top so I could hammer it in evenly. ... show more

These dog barrier fences are wonderful. One of our dogs is lovingly call Harriet Houdini because she is a real escape artist . We think she has finally met her match. She is extremely strong, but the barriers are well built and hefty. The directions recommend using a rubber mallet which did not work in our hard ground. A hand sledge work perfectly though, using gentle persuasion. We did buy the heavier ones so I don't think the way we installed ours would work on the smaller ones. It has stopped our dogs from digging under the fence in certain areas, but they just start in a new area. It just seems like a lot of money for only 5 two-foot barriers when the yard is so much bigger than 10 feet. Overall, it does what it is made for and we really like the peace of mind knowing they can't get out in those areas anymore, but I will probably find a different alternative for any new areas they start digging. ... show more
