    • Prefer this to the ML1
I actually prefer this to the ML1, and is at a price point that is ridiculously low for what it does. The various mic (and thus, frequency) profiles it affords you, is really helpful in the context of your mixes/ arrangements. The one thing I don't like about this line of Slate products is that A. you need an iLok to run it (I hate iLoks), and you need to run the plugin on each channel. I wish there was an option to print the sound directly so you'd not have to use resources (and always have to use an iLok) on the backend, running multiple plug ins. But at $150, can't say it's something one can complain much about. ... show more

Steven Slate has a problem.. he cant do anything crappy. Its always amazing. The ML-1 and ML-2 simply freaking amazing. Like i need to stress this, I have an extensive mic locker and since i got this, it hasnt moved off the stand. All the other mics are jealous. The ability to switch between mics is insanely awesome. And to all the people who have to attach a brand name to a mic that is emulating.... let your ears do the shot calling here... not a logo. Yes, we all would love to own a REAL U47 or U67 .. but for the price you are paying, and the quality you are getting. Its truly hard to look at yourself in the mirror and say that this doesnt sound amazing. Steve Slate is seriously shaking up the pro audio recording world, in a way that benefits the consumer, the small guy. Keep it up SLATE! ... show more

    • Installer deleted Visual C++ and broke Windows!
After installing the VMS software and activating it on iLok, none of my iLok VSTs work anymore. Turns out the VMS installer overwrote Windows 10 (64) Visual C++ Runtime causing other things like Firefox to stop working. This is possibly the worst written installer I have ever experienced from a big company. I appreciate what Steven Slate is trying to do, but the iLok problems and his insanely bad installers have cost me more money that they have saved me. This has been a nightmare. ... show more

Terrible, doesn't come with cable to use mic. Software is near impossible to download and register. Doesn't give full refund if used.
