  • Good Sound Quality with Minor Flaws
Color: Black
As a fan of Skullcandy’s products since the mid-2000s, I was excited when the Indy’s were released. I have been using a pair of the Power Beat 2s for the last 4 years, and it was about time for me to replace them, so I ordered these as soon as I saw them. They arrived a lot faster than expected so props to the seller for that, but the Indy’s have a few issues. For me, the three things that are most important for wireless headphones are sound quality, connectivity, and fit. Sound Quality: Sound quality is where these standout. Once you get a good fit, the treble, mids, and bass are perfectly balanced. The only complaint I would have about the sound quality is the volume is a bit low. I am an iOS user and while using iTunes with the sound check on they aren’t very loud, turning sound check off didn’t help much either and it increased distortion on bass heavy songs. I also tried with Pandora, Tidal, YouTube, and DirecTV Now and they’re all fairly low. YouTube had a small amount of latency that was barely noticeable. DirecTV Now has no latency at all. The microphone sound quality and voice sound quality during phone calls is not as good as my Power Beat 2s. Connectivity: This is one of the major issues. Music will constantly stop while playing these and I’ve also had issues with the left bud losing its connection completely during a workout which was extremely frustrating. Although the instructions do a good job explaining how re-pair the buds to one another, the process is more complicated than it is with other devices. This may not be a big issue to some people, but switching between devices is a pain. I do not take my phone in the gym or on runs, I stream from my Apple Watch, and switching devices is not a smooth process. Fit: I’m 50/50 on this. The left side fits perfectly, but I struggle with the right bud every time I put them in. I’ve tried different tips and still can’t get a solid fit with the right bud. And this fit is the biggest problem for these to me. Since the right bud is always falling out or halfway in my ear, I’m constantly pushing it in which activates the touch controls…usually me turning them off so, I end up stopping and fumbling around with these for a little while to get it to stay in my right ear. However, this will not be an issue to everyone, so I can’t knock the design too much for my lack of ear symmetry. Finally, would I recommend these or not? It depends on how you want to use them. If you don’t switch devices a lot and have the right sized ears, then I would I say these are pretty good for the price. However, connectivity is something that will need to be worked out or perhaps it’s better on non-iOS devices. I would like to hear feedback from an Android user to see if the volume and connectivity issues are an iOS issue. I’ll say give them a try you can always return them if they don’t’ fit. ... show more

  • Left and right bud do not stay synced with each other
Color: Black
I originally got the anker Bluetooth headphones, but I was not satisfied with the sound quality so I decided to go back to tried and true skull candy. The sound quality is much better, but these don’t quite get loud enough. The tough controls are clumsy, with the volume increments way too large to find the level you want without actually just doing it from the phone. Most infuriatingly, the left and right ear buds do not stay synced up with each other. I am a long distance driver and listen to audiobooks all day—somewhere between 30 seconds and 5 minutes after turning on my book/podcast, the sound ticks over from being fine to having a slight echo between the two buds. It might be fine for music, but for spoken word media it drives me absolutely nuts!! I do think these look nice, and are very lightweight. A little uncomfortable for long wear, but not nearly as excruciating as that echo. The search continues... ... show more

  • Great bass, better than apple, well worth the cost!!
Color: Black
I will admit, I got these on a whim checking to see if they were worth anything since the price was so much lower than other highly recommend similar products. I got these and put them through a huge test. First off...super easy to set up on my Note 9. Took a run around 2 blocks and left phone at home...music played seamlessly. Mowed the yard and they kept up. Then took a 2 hr drive without charging and let me just say here yes the bass is phenomenal! Had to charge in case before a 2 hr excursion via kayak...yep they got wet but still work perfectly. A little lapse on the phone calls but hey...I have experienced worse with more expensive buds. Overall I am so glad I took a chance on these, have been wondering if they lived up to my kids apple ones and even she agrees...mine sound and fit better!! ... show more

  • Can only pair to 1 device
Color: Mint
Skull candy headphones fit my wife’s ears better than any other, so I was excited to get these for her. We paired to her iPad just fine, then paired them to her iPhone with a couple of hiccups, but not too bad. Then when I tried to switch between devices it had to forget the headphones and repair (which isn’t super easy either). Not a great user experience. According to their support, this is it. They can only be paired to 1 device. These are going back and I’m finding something else. ... show more

  • Great sound, bad functions
Color: Indigo
These are great sounding and pretty great fit too. I use LG tones Platinum and these sound a lot better, but the functionality needs some serious adjustments on the next gen. They're touch, like the apple airpods, not buttons. Which is easily the most preferred by wireless users but in listening to music, especially while working out is difficult. They slip out and since they're touch, I'm changing the volume the whole time I'm trying to put it back in. That being said, skipping songs is also difficult while moving, even harder while working out. You have to press and hold for 5 seconds. Sounds easy enough until you need to use it. ... show more

  • Really good earbuds!
Color: Black
They sound amazing and fit well. My ear gets a little sore with long term use but the noise isolation makes me not want to use them when around other people. Good for working out and any activity really. The price is also really good for the quality.

  • Love them and the warrant plan - except for disappointing new performance issues.
Color: Black
update: Got my warranty replacement and am happy to have them back! First off, I think the ear nub should be in a fixed location with less aggressive seems, maybe have them lay flush by tapering the silicon edges. The rest is all on the up an up for me. I've had airpods as well as bose sound sports and these are more of a hybrid. On that note, the plus about the removable nub is that you can go without, and that is pretty nice. Also if they could make a more universal opening where the bud nests in the case it would allow for alternate tips to be used and thus allowing a wider range of the market. Might go along with the removable nub feature and be a cool marketing play; "the customizable bud".. like the Scion (cars) of earbuds lol .....thanks, buy em' and make sure you have fun with them so you can have music in the extremes and then get a new pair if something goes wrong!!! ... show more
