I'm a devotee of Skillmatics art, and play products. They are well thought out, they supply you with what you need, provide easy to understand instructions, and aren't outrageously priced. The Poke-In Art might take some supervision for the younger set, meaning 4, 5 and maybe even 6-year-olds. The holes are close together so you need to move the fabric aside that's already been poked in. I can see why this activity would require some fine motor skills. These are great projects for a rainy day, or much needed quiet time. The only mess is the little pieces of fabric, but those can be cleaned up with a hand vac in a few seconds. Keep away from toddlers and babies who put things in their mouths. It's very rewarding for a child to create something. The price today is $19.97 and that seems reasonable for the 10 foam flowers you get (but there are only six wooden "stems").

This is such a GREAT ACTIVITY kit! Kids (5-8 year olds), grandma and me - everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Kids were totally engrossed in it for hours. The process is simple, requires just a bit of skill; mostly patience. The 8 year old was totally comfortable with it, the 5 year old was more a learner... The activity is mess free - a huge plus point in my opinion. The end product is beautiful. They want me to buy another variation of this set. And more of this one as gifts for their friends. That's a huge thumbs up from the kids! This is another wonderful Skillmatics kit. We have loved every one of them, but this one is by far the best.

This is a very unique art activity for kids. It includes various foam flower “bases” that you use a stick to push small fabric squares into to create a flower. Our 5 year old had a lot of fun with this and it kept him entertained for quite some time as he worked through filling all the spots on the flower. It definitely requires some dexterity though and our 2 year old wasn’t quite old enough to be able to insert the fabric. Overall, I thought this was a great value for the entertainment and our 5 year old loved it because it was something they haven’t done before.

The child I gave this Skillcraft kit to absolutely adored it and easily created some really cute flowers. This is a great craft for kids that creates literally no mess. The kit comes complete with flowers, stems, tiny pieces of colorful fabric (some even have glitter on them!) and a tool to "poke" them into the holes with. I like that this kit includes ten flowers, making an activity that can be used several times. When the flowers are complete they are so cheerful and pretty! The ones that were completed the first time ended up being used to decorate a fairy house. I can't wait to see where the next batch of flowers will end up! I recommend this arts and craft kit highly.

High quality poke art projects. The kit comes with 10 flowers, but only 6 thin dowels, which I thought was a little odd. You're meant to double up the flowers, but our daughter wanted to have each flowers on an individuals stem, so we used some bamboo skewers that I cut the pointy ends off, this worked well, but obviously they aren't as thick as the dowels, so they turned out a little more rickety. This is probably not appropriate for kids who haven'y developed solid fine motor skills yet. Our kiddo who is a bit less skilled got frustrated with this particular craft, but our oldest loved it! I do recommend this over the DT versions because of the quality of all of the items that comes in the set.

This looks to be the kind of kit that keeps kids happily busy for hours. And - it results in a bouquet of non-allergy-provoking flowers! 😉 Everything you need to create bright, pretty, dimensional flowers is included in the kit. Then are 10 foam flower bases, 6 wooden stems (you can put two flower bases on one stem to create bigger flowers), two tools for poking fabric into the bases, 700 pieces of fabric for decorating the flowers, and a base to use while poking so kids don’t damage the table, etc. I think kids will enjoy making the flowers and then displaying the fruits (flowers) of their labor!

This craft was really fun. I got these for the kids to make for mothers day. It comes with everything to make 6 2-teird flowers. While it SOUNDS like I would be really easy for any kid to do, they do need to fave some fine motor skills. My 6yo daughter did struggle a bit. The holes that you poke into are all really close together and can be difficult when the cloth pushed into one hole covers the hole next to it. The fabric squares have a pretty oily l-metalic sheen to them that really sparkles. Even though they struggled a bit and weren't able to completely finish any of them, the end results still looked pretty and they had fun. And their mom loved it. It DID keep them occupied quietly for almost an hour. I'd recommend for sure, but would target maybe 7yo or older.
