Description

The SKIL Compact Workbench with Folding Stand is a multi-functional workbench and stand with a fold flat design for easy storage and a quick-connect system for fast, easy setup without tools. The workbench features easy-to-use controls for clamping and securing both small and large objects into place. In addition to the included stand, the workbench is compatible with additional SKIL items like the Portable Miter Saw Stand (SRS0001) and the Rolling Tool Box 3 Pc. Tower Set (TSM0002-3), both sold separately. The folding stand features a steel locker plate for increased weight capacity along with a quick-install dust bag to help keep your workspace clean. I have a DeWalt table saw that I purchased about 10 years ago that I absolutely love. It has a rack and pinion fence, built in fence ruler, lots of on board storage and just works great. I love using this saw. The only issue with it is that it wasn't cheap so when I needed another saw for our cottage out of state I was reluctant to spring for a second one. I started looking at all the low end saws and found this Skil saw. It was a little more (about $70) than the bare bones table saws but it to had all the features of my DeWalt that makes it such a pleasure to use. The rack and pinion fence alone makes it worth the additional money. No need to pull out your tape measure to measure the distance from the blade to the fence for each cut and to verify that the fence is perfectly parallel to the blade. Simply turn the knob to the desired cut distance using the built in ruler. lock the handle down and you are ready to go. The rack and pinion fence guarantees you'll get a square cut each and every time you change it. In addition to this all the various components of the saw store on board in their respective slots. The saw is equipped with a powerful 15 amp motor so stalling the blade is never a concern and the dust collection/port works great with a vacuum cleaner. Skil took the time to bake in all the positives of the DeWalt saws only they managed to keep the price low. Very pleased! I chose this saw because it was less than half the cost of the worksite saw by the big D brand, and a little more than half its weight. I wondered about quality and precision, but the price and Amazon's return policy prompted me to give it a try. I am so glad I did! This is an excellent portable table saw for a home-owner or skilled handyman. Its rugged, stable, powerful, and accurate. The table is a little small compared to a heavy contractor saw, and there is no provision for add-ons like table extensions. But its fifty pounds lighter and less than half the price of those saws! Is this the perfect saw? No. The table is small and it is loud--quite a bit louder than I expected. But, still, it is a good quality portable. It is light enough to carry with one hand, and it folds small enough to store on a shelf. Exactly what I wanted. Highly recommended! Update after a year's use: I've used this saw on multiple home improvement projects. In every case I've been the limit to accurate cuts, not the saw. I will saw the sound gets tiring; it's a very loud saw. But I'd still recommend this saw. It has worked very well for me, and I'm glad I bought it. ... show more

Picked this up when I got started woodworking after the 731 Woodworks review. I always thought I would upgrade to a Saw Stop when the time was right. After sending more hardwood through this thing than I ever thought it would handle, I have a hard time justifying a larger saw. The power is more than enough for any 8/4 hardwood I’ve sent through it, the cuts are straight, and it packs down when it’s time to clean up. I will say that I did upgrade and add a few items hence the 4 stars. I added the Bow fence extender and a few Bow clamps to keep the material locked down as well as some CMT Orange blades. The blade upgrades make a night and day difference. So all in all great saw and I’ll keep using it until it gives out. ... show more

    • The juice is worth the squeeze!
Style: 10" Table Saw
This saw is the epitome of the phrase: "The squeeze is worth the juice!". Assembly is very straight forward. The 15amp motor is powerful. I'm 5'7 and find the height very comfortable and it fits in my smaller shop and is easy to use outside for projects. The legs need to be fully extended and nudged to ensure it is standing just right to ensure it is flat and stable. One leg is adjustable and I have not had any stability issues. Dust collection from the 2.5" port is great with a wet/dry vac and completely usable to direct dust into a 5 gal bucket if you don't have a vac. I found my blade at a near perfect 90 degrees right out of the box. Just about every setting was perfect out of the box. They make adjustments on this saw extremely easy. The fence is very easy to adjust. Blades are easy to adjust. I would recommend building a saw sled vs using the provided angle guide, upgrading the saw blades when able, and upgrading the saw fence so you can use feather boards or other attachments to add to the safety of this saw. Another upgrade would be a zero clearance plate. I have used this fairly regularly since I picked it up on sale and it's been worth every penny. Bonus points for the ability to rip 4x materials and the ability to put in a dado blade. ... show more

The box was damaged pretty good on one side but there was no damage to the product thanks to Skill's styrofoam packaging. For the money, this is a pretty incredible saw. The fence is precise and only slight adjustment was necessary to put it square to the blade. I was looking at the Dewalt 10" but it was double the price. This tablesaw is absolutely great especially for the price. One thing i needed was the ability to store it in my garage and still get my vehicles in and it fits under my work bench. It is sturdy and stable and the 15a motor is a real workhorse. The blade is easily adjusted and the saw itself is easy to use. The mitre gauge is not of very good quality which is standard in this price range. I bought a vevor mitre gauge which i also would recommend. BTW I had to rip a 4 foot piece of poplar and when I had done it I had a perfect 4 foot piece of scrap that was 1/16 inch thick. ... show more
