Description

The SKIL 12” digital level tool is compact, easy to use, and packed with features, so it’s perfect for hanging pictures, putting up shelves, and lots of other DIY projects around the house. The high-contrast blue vials are highly accurate and easy to see. The digital LCD screen is backlit, so you can read it from any perspective, and adjusts to the correct orientation however you hold it. Arrows and optional audible tones guide you to the perfect angle, and the Hold feature allows you to freeze the value of one angle so you can check it against another. The Memory feature lets you store 10 values and reference them later. A magnetic edge makes the leveler tool especially easy to use one-handed.

I have many levels big and small but this is the only one I own that is digital. I use it almost every time. You can get it into tighter spaces since it's short and with great accuracy due to it being digital. If you need to draw a longer line than the level it can be easily done in two steps.... you can match up one end of the level on your prior line and rotate until you see zero on the screen and then draw the second line to make a 2 ft line. Works fast & easy. Being able to get this in tighter spaces makes it more useful compared to a longer level. It's worth every penny. ... show more

Love it. Easy to use and highly accurate. My wife seems to be able to detect anything that isn't perfectly level. Like "hey that picture is not straight or that mirror is crooked" I installed new bathroom lighting and this instrument made it easy to get the almost 5' bar perfectly level. The mirror guys installed mirrors almost perfectly, but this level detected the error and allowed me to get it perfect. I wasn't sure if this was going to be useful or just another gadget but it has turned into my go to level. I really like being able to see exactly how off level an item is or which way to move to make something level. My only complaint is the digital readout doesn't seem to match the bubble exactly. For example, if the readout says something is perfectly level, the bubble isn't dead center. If I put the bubble centered the level read out says it's not level. (This isn't grossly off, just enough to be aggravating) It's not the product's fault because I saw the pictures incorrectly, but to clarify - the bubble areas are not illuminated. I subtracted a star for the accuracy issue not this...only a fyi to those looking. ... show more

I now have the 12" and 24" versions of this level. I is extremely easy to read in all levels of light. The display is just superb. The option it has to stop beeping when you're at 0 is great. It allows you to focus on your work without having to back and forth from your work and the bubble. I also really like the color. It's easy to find almost regardless of where you've laid it. Battery life is pretty good, could be a little longer -- however I'm not going to take points off for it. It's really a great level. At the price point; if you're thinking about it you could purchase one and try it without much to lose. I think you will like it though. ... show more

I ordered two levels from here, 12" and 24" I'm happy with 12" level, but not with 24" as one of the vertical vails fell out on the first time I took it out of the pouch. In my opinion Skil should improve the quality of their products. 4 stars only because of this.

    • Impressive but beware...

DO NOT USE THE END CAPS FOR HANGING AT HEIGHTS. We did and the cap let loose and the level fell 320 feet.....but still worked! The caps work for hanging on a peg board in the garage, not from a climbers harness. We replaced it with the same model and crews are happy with the product.
