Good for folks with POTS and other blood circulation pribles who get cold easily. I live in a hot, desert climate, but when it gets to 73 degrees farenhight, or less I use these. I still get cold, but these help more than socks with less wool.

The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: these are definitely real wool (but soft, not itchy)!! Mine shrunk after washing and drying so size up. I absolutely love these socks. I wear a ton of wool knee high socks. Some socks are really thick so my shoes are never comfortable. Some socks aren’t warm enough. These socks are perfect. They are well constructed with reinforced areas like the calf and the soles. My favorite reinforcement is in the ankle area. The reinforced area gives just a bit more cushion for my bony ankle, which is nice because I have boots that rub my ankle bone. The material is so Comfortable and warm. One other great feature is that these socks don’t leave seam marks all over my legs and feet like so many of my reinforced socks do, making these a more comfortable fit for all day wear. I wear a size 9-9.5 and I don’t have super thick calves but they’re pretty meaty. I bought the medium and the next pair I buy will be a large for just a bit more room.

I bought these for my husband. He hasn't received them yet they are for Christmas but I took them out of the package and they are soft, appear supportive and are thick, which is what I wanted for him for the cold nights at work. They have a bit of a stretch so I believe they will fit perfectly. He'll love the over the calf too because that's the only type of socks he'll wear. I wasn't sure what to expect but they are very good socks I am pleased with them. I would buy these again for him and others. Even thinking about getting myself a smaller size to wear. I do recommend these.

I was not sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised by these socks. I've been an athlete, hiker and in the military for most of my life and am particular about the balance of comfort, weight, durability, and affordability. I'll pay more but I better get more. These socks seem to have it all and I'll update my review if they fail the durability test. They are thick and comfortable without too much bulk, provide a fair amount of compression, and are warm. I am not sure they are warm enough for standing still in the cold for a long amount of hours (ex. hunting and fishing in sub-freezing temperatures) without a great pair of performance boots but were great this weekend for long periods of walking and playing in the snow with the kids.
