The laces that come with this shoe are too short... and they don't stay tied when laced. The eyelets are metal and slightly too small and at an angle to accommodate really tightening the stock laces. The heel doesn't really lock, and the collar doesn't really tighten above the ankle making the shoe feel loose. That said I had to replace the insoles with new ones. That's pretty much all the bad. I have wide feet, 10.5 EE shoes or wider. These are EE wide shoes without stretching. So if you're looking for boots that fit wide feet and don't mind spending a few bucks more on laces and an insole these are excellent shoes. The soles are well made, so far. They don't appear to be made of materials that will compress poorly over longer time periods. The tongue is thick, and attached to the bottom lace hook. It's almost too thick, but I hopefully think it will compress and relax over time and wear. The toe is solid but I wouldn't use these shoes for shop work, but probably excellent outdoors for general moving around.

Purchase these for my son who is 17. He has a wide foot and they fit very nicely. I was concerned he would not like them as the brand is not keen or something similar. Teenagers can be worried about brand recognition. But to my surprise, he actually likes them. He says they’re light and they were comfortable right out of the box. we tried the other brands but they were very rigid and would take a bit of time to break in. I guess if you’re tied to a brand-name, you wear uncomfortable shoe, but thank goodness my son gave him a chance and put them on his feet and realize they were very comfortable. As far as holding up, time will tell. but the price point is so affordable I’d rather have his feet comfortable then buying another brand that’s twice the money and they hurt his feet. they were true to size, and like I said comfortable right out of the box.

Bought these for my husband. He likes the ankle support and says they are sturdy for hiking. They appear like they will hold up well. We are going on a long hiking trip soon and if they don't meet expectations I will update the review. He said they were easy to break in, but a bit on the heavy side which is typical for hiking shoes.

I love sketchers and I loved these but I didn’t like that they messed up first time taking them into work the sole just came off from shoe. If it’s just regular wearing I recommend but don’t use for work

I bought these boots specifically to hike the Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas and do some light rock climbing. In the course of 2 days, I trekked 15 miles and climbed all over many rough rock faces. These boots held up wonderfully and stayed comfortable the entire hike. I would like to note that I wore them every day the week before to break them in but that does not mean they would perform any less. These are a good buy and after I wear them out will purchase another pair.

This hiking boot is very sturdy and comfortable, yet light weight. I bought these for a vacation to a snowy, mountainous region and they were great! We did a lot of walking and site seeing and they kept my feet dry, warm and comfortable. They are very well built and I expect them to last for a good long time!

I have a very wide foot. I bought these to replace EEE Merrells that i simply can't wear because they pinch my toes. First day out of the box was comfortable in these boots. Two small complaints - they are very loose in the ankles and they feel a little clunky. I suppose that is just a getting used to them feeling. At this price relative to other brands, i don't care so much about durability.
