    • A boot for any occasion
I really like these boots. I can wear them with jeans or chinos and they look great, even with a belt and button down shirt. They are light enough for spring and fall, and durable and warm enough for winter. I wear a size 9 mens sneaker (Vans and Adidas), and a size 8 fit me perfectly in these boots. I have a slightly wide toe box and I don't like it when my big toe bumps against the inside of the shoe. These boots give me enough room without feeling loose when I walk. They are quite soft and comfortable and I could walk as long as I wanted. I can put the boots on without sitting down, I just reach back with one hand and grab the strap and they slide right on, yet they are not too roomy when walking for miles. I can wear thick socks and they are not too tight. There is definitely a break-in period. I noticed a little bit of a rub against my right shin the first time I wore them. The black boots are a rigid faux-leather material, and I also bought the brown color and I noticed that they are a little softer, and broke in faster. I live in Portland, OR and we recently got a variety of weather conditions and I put these boots to the test and I was happy with the results. It rained a lot and then we got 2-3 inches of snow with very cold temperatures. THESE ARE NOT INSULATED BOOTS AND YOUR TOES MIGHT GET COLD. However, I did not feel any pain or discomfort. I walked for 30-60 minutes (2-3 miles) on hard packed snow and slush in the city, in 20-25 F temperatures on two separate occasions, and the boots held up to the salt, snow, and cold in the city. I wore two pairs of socks, one thin poly and one thick wool, and my feet stayed warm and dry. I didn't have to step in deep snow, my jean cuffs never got wet. I felt my big toes start to get a little numb after walking on snow for 15 minutes straight, but it went away after I got back on the sidewalk. I also noticed that the boots have good traction in icy slush and frozen hard pack, and although I slipped slightly a couple of times, I felt stable and I confidently walked through all of the conditions without falling down. I also wore these boots in steady rain while walking for 20-30 minutes, and my feet and ankles stayed completely dry. Overall this is a great, comfortable, everyday boot that you can wear to the office, or on the weekends for city hikes in all conditions. UPDATE: these boots are pretty useless on ice. Then again, most footwear is useless on ice. These boots will cause you to slip right away, but I’ve actually had worse. If the ground isn’t crunchy, don’t step on it. ... show more

Bought these for my hubby. He absolutely loves them. They’re easy to slide on and comfortable. The quality is great, they’re lightweight and such a great price!

These boots run much larger than expected. I didn't buy these on Amazon. I bought them at a local Skechers outlet store and I am extremely glad that I did. These boots are great. They were exactly what I was looking for. I work in a field that requires work boots but I hate dealing with laces and eyelets. I prefer a slip on boot. These come with Skechers' memory foam inserts and they feel great, no issues with the quality or comfort of the boots. I wear a 10.5 in every piece of footwear that I own, running shoes, dress shoes, boots, slippers, flip-flops...all of it. I bought these locally because I was concerned some reviews had mentioned that they're a little big. My intention was to try them out in the store and then buy them off Amazon. Once in the store, my local outlet, was running a buy 1 get one half off so I decided to purchase in the store. Here's the kicker: A size 9 fits me perfectly. I started with a 10.5, then a 10, then a 9.5, then finally a 9. All were too loose until I got to the 9. I was surprised, to say the least. All of my other footwear is 10.5 and fits snug, maybe a half inch from my big toe to the tip of the shoe. That's exactly how the 9's fit (bought two pair). I thought maybe I got a misprint but both pair are 9's and both fit the same. ***Be advised if you purchase these, they're great, but in my experience they're 1.5 sizes too big. I usually need a 9 wide. I first tried the Skechers Blaine Orsen ankle boot, in a 9 regular. The Blaine Orsen is similar in construction to the Dorton, however it was way to narrow. T These Dortons Relaxed fit 9's (not the 9 extra wides) fit perfectly and are super comfortable. One nice design feature involves the elastic gussets. On other ankle boots that I've had, the elastic often stretches and frays over time. The Dorton elastic gussets are segmented and reinforced with leather. I went and ordered a second pair as when these eventually wear out I figured it's probable these could be discontinued. ... show more

I got a pair of these in 2017 and it’s time for a new pair. Getting a new pair because I have liked wearing them for doing stuff around the house. They have held up well and are really comfortable. I am happy to see Sketchers still makes these. Just a good pair of durable work shoes.

Good looking boot and suitable for traction and water resistance in snow. Good fit. However, it's advertised as easy on and off but I find this to be inaccurate. Had to purchase a shoehorn to put them on as the opening is narrow and the leather is stiff. Perhaps it will improve after a break-in time. ... show more
